Colorado is quickly turning into a shite hole with its California evacuee efforts. Downtown Denver has gone from tourist/convention area to sketchy over the past several years.

That is why I don't live in Denver - COVID did a number on that part of town.

I was in downtown Denver for business right before COVID.

A restaurant seated me/my guest at a window table, facing the street. Sometime between our appetizers and entrees, a gentleman on the street vomited all over the restaurant window, a mere inches from my face. Splash.

The police and ambulance were there within minutes. Apparently it happens several times a week.

We scored some free dessert out of the incident, though my appetite was somewhat dampened at that point.

Half a mile to Tiger Stadium, tops. What could go wrong?

You can say that for a vast swath of the West. Californication. Does keep our real estate high though until the next bubble bursts.

I've advised my kids not to buy and wait for the next housing bubble to burst. Anyone who buys now in CO is going to be in trouble. My house is currently worth three times what I paid for it, and that cannot last

I had a place downtown, near Union Station until October of last year. I can confirm that what you experienced is a fairly common occurrence. Sometimes it's coming out the other end.

Good advice. It's getting pretty crazy out there. We have tight inventory though because of the urban growth boundary.

That's one reason why BR has so many older shite neighborhoods. There is little incentive to redevelop when you can just build new homes further out. In my area we have lots of infill. Just tore down an old K-Mart near my office to build a bunch of nice condos. Though you may see more and more people fleeing for the burbs if they can't get this urban unrest shite under control.

It is seriously tempting to cash out and move to Texas but my wife hates the heat and I moved here to be close to the mountains and snowsports.

Supposed to be 110 here on Sunday LOL.

Glad I missed that.

I love Denver, btw.
Hoping that whatever currently plagues much of the heavily urban areas of the city is successfully managed soon.

I’ve lived here for most of my life, and the heat still offends me.
Come June, it becomes 4 months of an almost entirely indoor existence.
