To be fair those are odds only 1 team seems to be able to beat.

I felt bad for our Auburn posters and figured they could use the good news evening it’s rumored at this time. But according to him he is hearing it’s not if but it’s likely happening.

$15m would be a lot to swallow if you go and get some up and comer from a G5 school.

I'm pretty sure we could comb group homes for a mildly retarded adult that could improve on the 4 losses annually and the 0-12 record on the road vs. our rivals.
Slightly less retarded than Gus. That's what I'm hoping for at this point. It can't be that hard to find.

This guy even looks like an improvement.

“An analogy I like to use is that Gus is Norman Rockwell in a state with Adolph Hitler. Both were accomplished artists, but Hitler had tanks and couldn’t really appreciate occupying France and treating the maginot line like a speed bump because he had it so easy in Poland and was just used to dominance.”

Have to love the modern age where a Bama fan (presumably) living in LA can tune into a Baton Rouge radio show to get updates on Auburn football coaching situation

It’s often why you don’t see people stay at the same company more than just a few years before moving on.

Eh, the more recent trend you alluded to is more due to the employees not being satisfied with the compensation they are receiving at their current jobs, the timeline for upward mobility, and then finding other employment opportunities that can provide them the financial incentives they want now that their current employers aren't or won't provide to them. That's not what is really going on here with Auburn and Gus. Gus is being paid very handsomely, and it's his employer, not Gus, that is getting impatient for the results they feel like they have paid for with the substantial raise and extension he received in 2017.

The problems I see with a lot of SEC coaches and SEC West coaches, in particular, is that they have the unfortunate task of playing in the same conference, or division, as the GOAT football coach who is on an unprecedented run. The money boom in college football has created a system where every head coach is making a ridiculous salary, yet the powers that be all seem to think they, individually, are paying for results that are pretty unrealistic and, honestly, unfair to expect. When almost every coach is making 5+ million a year, it would be impossible for every coach to win at the level the boosters and AD think fall in line with that salary. And when Nick Saban is doing what he's doing, it makes that expectation even more unrealistic. Firing one coach and hiring another isn't going to change that either.

It's just going to continue to cost athletic departments tens of millions of dollars every time they think they can do better, but I'm not sure I can think of many schools in this conference, outside Florida, that have done significantly better when they have made coaching changes over the past 5-7 years. LSU won a national title, but the average season hasn't been any better. Georgia I guess made a championship game, but their average season hasn't been much better, if any, since Richt. Tennessee has been a revolving door with the same results. South Carolina, same thing, and their new coach doesn't inspire confidence things will change for the better either.

Damn, time flies. I was working Project in Fayetteville when it happened. And I remember laughing my arse off when it was announced, while people in Fayetteville were disappointed.

Lol. I promise, they wanted to see Gus come home. I'm not gonna say they were knowledgeable fans. But they wanted Springdale's finest back home.

That, and if I remember correctly, it was later in the carousel, where the best names had already taken jobs. I figured that was a big reason Auburn bit the bullet and paid him.

They better have someone legit lined up as the replacement. Name another coach who has as many wins against Alabama as him.
