I don't subscribe to "deserving." It's a stupid way to find a champion.
What I know is this. A&M fans think that they should get to jump ahead of Ohio State because they've played more games, and literally no other legitimate reason.
If that's the standard, it's Cincinnati, not A&M. If it isn't, it's Ohio State, and not A&M. No matter what, it isn't A&M.

ND will probably get in over Ags
ND should be in based on overall body of work. They played a full season in a good conference, and have a very impressive record.
I think the debate is between A&M, Ohio State, and Cincy for the 4th seed, and I see no evidence at all that Ohio St. should get the nod over A&M or Cincy. They have done nothing impressive. Not even defending their record against a full slate of opponants.

How it should be:
1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Texas A&M
4. Notre Dame
How it will be:

3. Ohio State

More games. In a better, deeper conference. With a better signature win over a top 10 Florida team that put some real fear into #1 Bama in the SEC title game.
Big wins should matter. Ohio State doesn't have any. A&M does.
If big wins don't matter. Then Cincy should get the spot with more wins and equally unimpressive schedule as Ohio State's.

A single win over a three loss team that is probably not even making a NY6 is not a "big" win
No matter how much A&M wants to think it is a big win
Its a good win. Its not a big win.

When you find yourself arguing that a win over a top 10 ranked, SEC division champion, is not a big win... it might be time take a step back and reevaluate your position.

Is it bigger than a top 2 ranked conference champion win?

You realize in any given year other than 2020 those teams would have 4 more wins due to beating up on the aforementioned Coastals and Cincinnati's.

I think it’s dislike, more than a rational position.

Hard to overcome selection bias.
Any SEC team not named Alabama basically needs to win the conference or at least the division.
The “committee” may “select” A&M, but they’ve got other choices they can “defend.”
With COVID-19 causing massive revenue losses, the committee may pivot to Notre Dame or Oklahoma to bring in another big brand.
Also they like an Oklahoma versus Aggies for their NY6 game.
A&M is good, but the committee may point out a 28 point loss is a big loss.
Win the division, win the league.
Don’t leave it up to a committee.

Is the * by LSUs record to indicate they beat Florida’s arse at the swamp?

But Jimbo said that wasn't the A&M team that got beat down by Bama earlier in the year.
I suppose, conveniently, it was the same Florida team.

A&M does.
A&M's "big win" is 8-3 and was by a field goal as time expired.

There's no talking yourself into a playoff spot, Aggie.

30-50 and A&M wants to act like they should benefit from the SEC's hard work.
Win something here and then maybe you get to ride the coattails of our success.

The real argument shouldn’t be Ags vs Irish. It should be literally anyone vs Ohio State, who played half a schedule.
I agree. 1 loss and a much better slate than Ohio State, who looked like crap yesterday anyway.

Well this is a stupid point, and I don't think you realize it actually works against Aggie.

Texas A&M has seven wins over quality opponents from the best league in the country and an eighth victory over lowly Vanderbilt.
Texas A&M has a total of 2 wins over teams with a winning record. One of those teams is 6-4.

in my view, both Cincy and Coastal's schedule was as good or better than texas am and without a loss and more wins
i support leaving out OSU and taking Cincy or Coastal with ND at no. 4.

ND or AM are getting skull fricked by Bama.
Just pageantry at this point for both to get in.

You shouldn't feel robbed no matter who gets in over you. Championship teams don't lose by four touchdowns.
Then how do you justify Nebraska (2001) and Oklahoma (2003) being in the title game over Oregon and USC respectively?
