I think Kentucky is the only 19+ win team that hasn't gotten a top 8 seed since they started seeding teams. In 2006, they went 20-10 and didn't. Alabama did at 20-10 and UGA did at 18-12

2015 Vandy went 20-10 and 2016 So Carolina went 20-10 and didn’t get a top 8 national seed.

Crazy that neither did.

Now please shut up you’ve been arguing this pointless shite for seven hours.

He has brought a strong case against LSU being left out. The strongest case LSU has brought to this debate is “we are LSU”. Pretty damning, imo. I could see Auburn at 8 and LSU at 9 and you guys can settle it on the field

Thanks lefty. There are sane folks on this site after all.

As I’ve said, I think the SEC deserves 6 national seeds. But if the committee decides to cap it at 5, I think the 6th place team is a bit obvious at the moment. Could very well change in Hoover, but as of now that’s how I see it.

Spoken like someone who doesn’t want to face LSU in Omaha and knows a top 8 seed makes the road that much easier. Yall assume Auburn would be the easier matchup in Omaha bc well yall lost 2 out of 3 to LSU already, including a run rule.

Poverty mindset for a poverty program.

We will definitely see if the committee wants to solely base it off of metrics or if they look at other factors. The metrics aren’t exactly 100%.

You typed all that out and this is the only one that matters….

quote:

SEC Record

LSU finished 19-11
Auburn finished 17-13

You don’t win 19 games in the SEC, finish the season a unanimous #1, and miss out on a top 8

You need to be more concerned with Oregon or Oregon St. stealing your spot.

LSU is a lock for top 8. Sorry.

Yeah, kinda itchin for that rematch actually.

I think SEC deserves 6, though and both LSU and Auburn are top 8.

Best of luck to all SEC teams in the tourney.

I agree both deserve it, but his argument is that the 6th seed in the SEC deserves it over the 3 seed. I understand the metrics and people are saying Arkansas is not afraid of LSU, but LSU is not afraid of Auburn.

I know they swept us, but just like Arkansas LSU can be on the field with any team in the country.

Metrics are important, but series wins and record does count for something.

My God, how many times do we have to rehash this? You do realize that Auburn is the 6th seed and LSU the 3 seed only because you played Missouri and Texas A&M while we had to play Georgia and Ole Miss, right? I mean that is worth more than 2 games I can assure you.

So series wins should count for something when it’s Arkansas vs LSU but not when it’s LSU vs Auburn… do I have that right?

The mental gymnastics you people put yourselves through is amazing.

Who are you trying to convince? Yourself?

LSU will get a national seed. There’s no debate or argument to be made against it.

I’ve said numerous times they are deserving of a national seed. Not sure why you think otherwise.

Do you think that had Bama and/or Ole Miss defeated Indiana and/or SMU soundly in the regular season that they still would have been passed over?

No, but that’s because it’s Indiana and SMU

do you think 9-3 Indiana gets passed over for 10-2 Alabama with a head to head win?

Absolutely.

Where are y’all ranked higher than us? We’re better in ELO, national rankings, and we also finished 3 spots higher than yall in conference. RPI is fools gold! When you win and your RPI goes down, that shouldn’t count. You can’t remake your schedule on the fly! We have more wins (overall and in conference play) than yall! We are ranked higher by the polls and ELO. Also, the biggest thing you’re missing is WE ARE LSU!
The NCAA sponsors the baseball tournament! They make money off of it! They want the biggest brands who have shown year over year they can compete with the best in the country. Is that Auburn or LSU who does that?
