Classy kid. Hope to be able to raise my kids to be able to handle adversity like that.

Great perspective from that young man.

I'm going to remember all the big hits that Shaddy had for the Hogs this year. That play will always be remembered, but without Shaddy this team would have never made or to the finals.

It's good he pointed out that it isn't a routine play even though all the fans think it was.

I've seen MLB players miss those catches near the stands in no man's land.

This wasn't a knubber down the first baseline.

Takes some guts to stand up and say that. No doubt he will have nightmares about that catch for the rest of his life.

That was gut wrenching. I cant imagine dealing with that. Shaddy absolutely wrecked Carolina but was gracious in postgame and I became a fan.

Hope he finds success in the MLB.

He handled that well.

And that was the right fielder’s play to make anyway.

For all you guys getting moist and touchy-feely over his platitudes, did he explain anything about the play?

Did anybody call it? Did he see know the FB was lining up to make the catch? Would he have done anything different if he had to do it over? etc, etc.

The interviewer should have asked specific questions about the play. If he didn't, then he dropped his own pop fly.

He said after the game that he didn’t hear anybody calling for it so he had to keep running.

Perhaps that particular right fielder could see that there was an out of control glory hog rushing in on things and thought the best move was to let it happen and hope for the best.

A good friend of mine used to say, 'This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.' Think about that for a while.

Well, it sounds like all the right things to say but he's wrong. I have to feel in my gut he knows in his gut he's wrong.

Running through the play and by the 1B is one thing. Actually running into the glove arm of the man about to win a Championship is quite another. That's not "one of the toughest plays in baseball" that's "one of the hardest sports regrets of his life" talking.

I wonder if the FB and/or RF have spoken or will speak about the play.

If they do, it will most likely be platitudes in the interest of unity.

Give them a few beers and/or off the record and you may get their real thoughts about what went down.

They're kids playing a kids game and my so called heartbreak can't compare to theirs. Shaddy knows what he did. As a fan I can't help but really hurt over it but guess can remember we had it won. Then we lost it. On Thursday as a team we lost it.

Good kid but historic choke. I live in CO where no one cares about CBB, but the average sports fan is laughing At UA for the epic choke and mind frick

...just my experience
