That kid needs to keep his helmet on and get a tinted visor.

Normally on here, the rule is Pics or GTFO. In this case, we'd have let you slide without the pic.

Adding that picture was a great touch.

Maybe. Maybe not. But he is the captain now.

We won't know for certain until he plays, but it's very possible he might end up as the SEC top QB when the season is over.
Last year, a huge chunk of his playing time was against ranked opponents where UGA had put in their second string but the opposing defense had their first string still in. This was in games against Oregon, South Carolina and TCU where UGA was up so big in the 3rd quarter that UGA already put backups in while the opponent didn't put in their defensive reserves until midway through the 4th quarter (at which point Brock Vandagriff came in and largely handed the ball off to walk ons to end the games).
Beck completed 74% of his passes last season for 9 yards per pass attempt and a 186 passer rating. Against the 3 ranked opponents he was:
Oregon: 83% completion, 1 TD, 0 INT, 237 passer rating, 97 QBR, 1 rush for 4 yards.
SC: 83% completion, 1 TD, 0 INT, 216 passer rating, 97 QBR, 2 rush for 25 yards.
TCU: 67% completion, 0 TD, 0 INT, 153 passer rating, 99.9 QBR.
Was there pressure on him in those scenarios? Not a ton, but he still had pressure to show he was the #2 guy ahead of Vandagriff. But he was still playing with UGA's #2's against the opponent's #1's (as demoralized as the opponent may have been) and performed to an admirable level.
The kid has accuracy and arm strength. He seems to see the field pretty well. Unless he gets the yips, he'll likely put up very good stats.

Absolutely agree on that but to come out right now and preach to everyone as fact is

Worth noting that he is so good he got beat out 2 years in a row by a former walk on QB

If it means anything in the leadership/maturity category, Carson Beck is a 4th year QB... but he is still 20 years old. His backup (Brock Vandagriff) is older (already 21).
Getting beat out by a damn good QB who also happens to be 23 years old when you are 18/19 is not the "in your face" that you want to make it out to be.
Carson has had to learn how to be a leader at UGA. He has had a lot of maturing to do while at UGA.
He will be significantly better at the end of the season versus September as well.
