To put that into comparison, that would be like the United States today losing 10 million military personnel and 5 million civilians dead and 40 million wounded. I promise if that happened here today, it would change this country forever:
But you don’t think that France losing so many men in World War One impacted how they reacted in World War Two? If you think it is the stupidest thing you’ve ever seen than you must not.
I stand by my original comment. I think that World War One emasculated a whole generation of French males and dictated their views on fighting and how they rebuilt their country after World War One. And we saw proof of that in World War Two.
I can tell you have French ancestry.

France was badass 500 years ago. I believe it from reading the little medieval history I have read. I will take your word for it.
Now days? Not so much. You have first hand personal examples of it from the Gulf War and Operation Freedom in this thread. But you have completely ignored that because it is counter to your argument.
I am a military history nerd, emphasis on the nerd part, especially starting at the American civil war when technology started to outpace tactics. The repeating rifle was a battle changer. The machine gun was a war changer. And the Germans had the best for a long time. They proved that in World War One, especially on the French. Modern weapons and antiquated tactics are what led to trench warfare. Add in chemical weapons, phosgene and mustard gas, and the French got massacred in World War One. I can’t blame them for being gun shy and wanting to avoid a fight afterwards. Most of their fighters were dead or maimed. But that doesn’t mean that they have not shown themselves to be complete pussies the last 100 years.

Nobody has said France is a modern military power or they haven’t gotten their asses kicked or forced to surrender ever
But there have been multiple folks in here just now who have said they’ve lost nearly every war they fought which is blatantly false, and I’m trying to understand how this misconception is so widely believed

The French fricked many old ladies in this country. When their husbands and sons died fighting France’s war for them. My old lady was not fricked by one. But there were hundreds of thousands who were.

The only parts of France worth being in are the Rhône Valley area and Bordeaux. Paris has the same issue as Londonstan. The Mediterranean coast is just overrated. The closer you get to the Swiss and Italian borders the more it becomes touristy.

For the record, I love the French. Our oldest ally. LaFayette. Napoleon. Joseph Joffre. WWI absolutely buttfricked them for 2 generations at least. The joke about them being pussies is largely false if you know history.
But yeah, posting about weak French bloodlines in a thread where people are complaining about the refs is very fun for me and I will never stop.
