Really? Never seen a bigger take your ball and go home. Winning a title at Arkansas would be hilarious.

Now we know why the Arkansas governor asked for $100,000 emergency funding for a four minute solar eclipse.

Can’t wait until Cal throws jabs at Kentucky. We know it’s gonna happen, the man can’t help himself. Gonna get ugly

Cal couldn’t win with multiple nba players. Don’t expect much or you will be disappointed. You will see top talent, you will look great in December but ultimately you will flame out in March.

I think Kentucky paid someone to do an inception on him.

They wanted him gone, didn't want to pay for it, so they made him think it was his idea to leave.

Well, his ego matches his first round exits.

Ok. I'll gladly take the press that comes along with that, the preseason match ups, the nationally televised practices and games, the head coach sitting on live TV sets prior to big tournaments. The overall perception of this thing is arguable bigger than anything he can do on the court

Arkansas isn't a blue blood, but we aren't Ole Miss basketball, either

If he underachieved at a program like Kentucky, he sure as frick won’t do any better at Arkansas.

People on here are saying that he’ll have a change of focus at Arkansas, but I highly doubt that. The dude is a below-average game management coach who knows very little about X’s and O’s. He’ll simply buy more 5 stars recruits and throw mud at the wall in hopes that something will stick. Enjoy it Arky fans.

I think it will invigorate him. His ego requires he go out "on top", and he most certainly was not going to do that at UK with another title. At Arky if he can make a couple of deep tourney runs to the 2nd weekend, they will be happy and so will he. I think it's a win/win.

Worse places than Arky but ya didn’t see this one coming. He must’ve felt the kitchen get a whole lot warmer.

There are probably 5 or 6 schools who would turn down Cal vs their current coach but yet the rant keeps telling me what a terrible hire.....make it make sense

I said I’d be surprised if they didn’t give him time to right the ship. At least another season or two. Once their AD started publicly expressing his displeasure, though, you knew it was nasty. Like all relationships, once ultimatums start getting tossed around you know it’s in dire straits. I still think Cal is a good coach and he can definitely attract talent. Could put together a couple all star teams with guys that stopped for a cup of coffee in Lexington.

If you believe what you read from local sources, Cal has been distant from everyone since 2015. He was able to separate the basketball program from the rest of the athletics dept, and things had apparently gotten very disorganized. All the good people left, and Cal couldn't manage it all, and it showed on the scoreboard.
Cal is a good coach, but he's much better at recruiting than X's and O's. Talent only wins you so much, and obviously that shows up in March.

With that said, his ego will force him to focus at Arky to try to win some games instead of just funnel players to the NBA. I think this is good for you, and good for us.
