I like Barnes. I'm saying it would be hilarious if Barnes left after building his most expensive 20 million dollar roster ever at age 72

It’s still wild that in 2023 Ole Miss was choosing between Chris Beard and Dusty May to be our next HC

I don't follow college basketball like I used to, but is Michigan really that much better of a job than what Oates has now?

probably not considering Oats is getting everything he has asked for. Just opened the new Practice facility next to Coleman...

Michigan is the defending national champs with a stacked, ready-made roster and perhaps the biggest NIL budget in college basketball, thanks to Larry Ellison. In addition to all that, Michigan has 9 final 4s in basketball. They are a top 3 job in college basketball without the stress of being a blue blood.

Oats is also from the Midwest and started his coaching career in Michigan. Trolls aside, Oats would be retarded not to take this job if offered it

They did just win a national title (their second) and have been to recent FFs in 2013, 2018, and this past season and 9 all-time. While Alabama's program is MUCH better than it once was, yes Michigan is still a better job. They have more money in the program, more history, so yeah. It's one of the better jobs in the country

One thing Michigan doesn't have? The weather and proximity to the beach. His daughters are all still in HS and college..... I don't see him leaving until they are all graduated .....

It might be the best job in the country. It has as much money as any school with high fan support. The differentiator is that it doesn't have the added stress of being a blue blood that you get at UK or UNC. Any coach not named Hurley, Self, or Scheyer would be dumb not to take it

everyone can pay money now. He is in the shadow of the football program here and has become an alabama legend. He will have a statue.....so what's another couple of million for him at this point?

Oats is the type of guy who wants to build his own legacy and do something that's never been done before. He's basically built Alabama from scratch and he's paid very well at Alabama. He can cement his legacy at a school that's never done it before. Don't see him leaving.

Yes. Infinitely.

Michigan is a Top 10 job, IMO.

Bama is probably around the 35th to 40th best job with all things considered.

This one has me worried. Great job, huge NIL budget, defending champs, and closer to home for Oats. Hoping he's looking to stay put until both daughters graduate then head to the NBA.

$15m buyout is still a damn big number for NCAAB though. And Billy Donovan is hanging out there without a job currently, too.
