they will go after Beard and I couldn't blame them. After stealing schloss I'm sure they'd love to grab beard and stick it to us.
Plus he's a damn good basketball coach.

Beard and McCasland would both be great hires imo

My sources are saying the job is John Pelphrey's to turn down.

Somehow Buzz has now been at 4 schools that are basically lateral moves. Maybe some slight step ups in certain areas but not significantly.

Marquette, Virginia Tech, TAMU, Maryland. Very odd for a coach that hasn’t been pressured out or fired.

not sure how that would be "sticking it to you" - you guys voluntarily got rid of him. Now Ole Miss would for sure feel like they got stuck.

I read somewhere that he is paranoid about getting fired. He always leaves after 5/6 years. Gets a nice salary bump and a reset for another few years.

Honestly this is a good move for A&M.

Their program reached as far as it will go with Buzz. They need to hire someone with a modern basketball offensive mind.

Aggys can't seem to keep a coach.

I'm really, really happy for Buzz.

I'm even happier for Auburn and Bruce.

I'm really happy for Buzz, though.

Texas Tech is a better job than A&M. Not sure McCasland would leave. Good coach, though.

In the instance of Buzz Williams, Aggy isn't a stepping stone. Buzz doesn't stay anywhere long, and he's adept at knowing when things are just about to turn against him. He takes the opportunity to leave before he's forced out. He's stayed nowhere very long, and none of his ADs/power people have been all that upset to see him go.

ETA: Aggy is probably ahead of the curve on this one thanks to Buzz leaving.

ETAA: Buzz took a job that the prior head coach just publically shite all over and has no idea who his boss will be.

Our basketball program sure is, but our football program isn’t.

Our football program is the opposite: a golden parachute for coaches falling upwards.

A&M is not a step up from Tech right now. Being in the SEC and everything that comes with that could be appealing but Tech has been rolling since they hired Beard and they have good NIL backing (not top tier in basketball but it doesn’t seem like A&M backs basketball that much either).
