yowzers. The problem isn't that butch was fired, the problem is you hired a tard instead. He didn't have a single season with less than 4 losses, not one. His SEC record his last 3 years was 5-3, 4-4, and 0-6 before being fired.
From a UT perspective it was quite clear he wasn't the guy. You just didn't hire "the guy" after him either which is a problem.

In all seriousness, 2015 and 2016 are the only times that Tennessee seemed like a competent program over the past ten years. Butch did a good job cleaning up Dooley's mess and signed many talented players who ended up playing in the NFL (Dobbs, Kamara, Sutton, Josh Malone, Derek Barnett, etc...). Plus Butch was at least a smart hire on paper. He was a successful head coach at two different programs unlike Kiffin, Dooley, and Pruitt who had zero head coaching success before they were hired.

He is a dick head I've heard from another player who played for him at Cincy. Barely knew kids names, was never around for them, etc. Said they were so happy when he went to Tenn

This is like saying the ex-husband who beat his wife and kids once a week deserves an apology because the next guy beats them twice a week.

No shite, the rant somehow still manages to lose their fvcking minds when we lose, even though its been happening for a decade at this point. In the last 14 days ive had to respond to a post suggesting that Dooley only lost to ranked teams and was actually a good coach and another asking me to apologize to Butch Jones. WTF kind of upside down world am i living in.

Unless the inept and toxic BOT / administrative situation at UT gets corrected, it's doubtful UT will be able to attract a quality HC -- unless it's someone who also brings his own set of issues and risks to the party. Why? Because any really good HC candidates will have better options.

He was close to getting them back. The pressure was too much for him I think and he cracked. He was doin good, then it just all went to crap

Who the frick wouldn’t do that if a program screwed you over because they were unrealistic people, that still believed Tennessee is a power house, and could do better than Butch, and their biggest rival hired you, and y’all kicked their arse??
