Thugs have one thing in common: they are dumb as dogshit and have zero impulse control. The only smart ones work for the government or the police.
Who thinks pounding some one's unconscious head into the ground over and over in the CCTV and smartphone age could ever possibly be a good life decision?

During the investigation of this incident, Hartwell was identified as the offender. An arrest warrant was subsequently obtained and Hartwell was arrested at the Auburn Police Department on Sept. 12.
Hartwell was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $25,000 bond.”

Attempted murder charges are needed.
I trust Auburn police wanted him in custody as soon as possible while they line up the pieces for the proper charges.
Also, if those were Auburn students filming, they need repercussions. Calling the police was a minimal action.
