not overwhelming. Not as overwhelmed as when he played Bama in 2012. If he thought 30-3 wasn't overwhelming, he should have played Bama this year again and I promise you he would have been overwhelmed. These people!
Bama would beat the Irish 100 to 3 if Notre Dame had a break or 2 on 1 drive, or a fumble or int. We should have played them first so he would just shut up.

You have to say that when you were in the playoffs, but your team would be 6-6 in the SEC.

Relative, But Notre Dame is not an elite roster regardless.

The talent disparity wasn't as bad as the 2012 title game. Clemson scored on a miracle catch at the end of the half. Notre Dame had multiple opportunities to score in Clemson territory. Some bad breaks made a 23-10 game end up being 30-3

If he said talent disparity wasn’t the reason for the loss, he’s not bright.

If it wasn’t a disparity in talent, it was a disparity in coaching, and here’s the head coach telling us that.

He's sticking up for his players which is what a good coach does.

You can laugh at him (I do) but he is saying the right things as the captain of their ship.

If he doesn't say it, they don't get it the next time they go undefeated.

ND should never make the playoffs - this year proved it again.

Seriously, Notre Dame would be in between Missouri and South Carolina this year in the SEC which would be about 9th place.

They're not getting any benefit of the doubt the next time. ND will fall soon because of their continuous dropping of the ball. No one outside of their fans really give a damn about them.

He’s just saying what he hasn’t to say. Academics will keep them from ever being elite , talent wise as far as depth goes .

Wat?

They can get a couple of really talented guys to put in starting lineup but their academic requirements will keep them from stacking talent at multiple positions throughout the roster so when the starters are tired and need a rest the drop off is glaring.

Simple enough for ya ?

It's not academics holding players back, it's the fact that other universities are more sought after.

Your argument is weak. If top players wanted to go to ND, they could get them. Most top players are actually pretty smart. Of course you have the jameis Winston's, but I don't buy your academic argument here.

Notre Dame had absolutely no explosive play capability. In today's era of college football you aren't going to ever win squat without playmakers.

The academic argument is a legitimate one.

Not every student athlete should be a student athlete. Some schools limit their pool of players because those kids aren't a good fit.

There’s a lot of teams that wouldn’t have explosive play capability against Clemson. That may be emphasizing the argument that Notre Dame is an average team.

I agree with him. The 2012 championship game was an embarrassment. At no point did ND look like they even belonged in the same division as Alabama, much less on the same field. That was probably the most comprehensive asswhipping I’ve ever seen us administer to a presumably equal opponent.

Clemson beat ND handily yesterday, but it wasn’t a “men against boys” beatdown. I thought ND represented themselves pretty well. If they hadn’t let the last five minutes of the first half get away from them, they might could have made a game out of it at the end.
