Smart move to fire him, but you waiting too long. Now most of the top candidates have other jobs. You’ll have to target coordinators.

Well maybe they will be smart enough to go after Mike Leach now, since the other SEC schools didn’t.

Dan Mullen was incredible in that he won 8-9 games a year at State
LOL!!! No he didn't. He was 6-6 in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2016 (5-7).
He went to a bowl game with a losing record in 2016.

State’s administration is way too conservative to hire someone like that.

ANd they had holes from Mullen's recruiting debacle.

Moorhead seems like a nice guy. Not all nice guys are made to be head coaches in the SEC.
We were 0-6 after prep weeks for bowls and other games. We lost games we should have won. I went to the Tennessee game back in October, and our coaches had no fire or intensity. I wanted Moorhead to succeed, but the only place he ever fired anybody up was the press conferences after the games he lost or sometimes won.
The program started going downhill with the academic/behavior issues and the loss of the S/C coach, leading to a promotion of the grad assistant. You can’t have an SECW football team be successful without a rigorous S&C program. Rumor has it Moorhead was told to make changes for next year and he said no.
We need someone to come in and get everything back under control. It starts at the top, and when you have someone too concerned with being nice rather than someone who’s going to hold kids accountable, changes need to happen.

My head coach choices would be Brent venables would be my #1 choice, my 2nd choice would be Tony Elliot. My third choice would be DJ Durkin and throw some hard cash their way

Eventually we'll figure out that Leach wants no part of being an SEC HC. There's no way he hasn't been approached, and yet he remains at Wazzou. He should just admit that he likes to stay at that level and doesn't want to mix it up with the monsters in this league

Congrats MSU! Whats your ring size?

He'd probably be at Tennessee right now if their AD situation hadn't been a monumental clusterfrick.

I think your AD will or has made the hire. The issue is how long does he get based on an empowered fan base and people who now feel they can start rumors and get him fired because they deem it what's best for the program.
If he lets the general fan dictate how he performs his job he shouldn't be there in the first place.
If you really think the common fan voicing their opinion on a message board, twitter, etc has any bearing on what the AD of a major university does you're touched.
Second, I would hope after being a coach for years, he would understand the dynamics of a coaching change and would already have something in place as already stated. If he didn't, then he screwed this up. I guess we will see.

Wonder how those recruits who sent their letter of intent in December feel now.
The star RB that is a must have bcause they are losing guys already made it clear when the rumors started before the end of the season. He was coming only if Moorhead was there.
The QB made that clear too.
Shrader showed what he can do, and if wanted to bolt he will have a landing spot and has his redshirt to do that.

frick off dude
Over the last 3 decades MSU has had 4 coaches, we dont mind losing a few games but this shitshow had to end before he took us back to the depths of the Croom years.
Being an immature idiot and attacking the fanbase certianly did not help matters either.
