Honestly if I was a high profile coach like him getting a few years from retiring I would actually do something like that. You’ve won so much and got all the money you ever need, why not jump ship to a smaller program with less stress and enjoy watching people meltdown over it and see just how good you can do at a challenging program

. We went Campbell(No), then Kiffin(No), then Leach (was next but got pissed we offered Kiffin first so he said no and signed extension), then Harsin (no), then Drink (no way we would pay 4 mil for a 1st year coach after the Morris fiasco,
That's a lot of no's bottom feeder.

Mullen didn't leave major gaps. Mullen used JUCO to fill gaps. Just because Joe refused to use the same blueprint that worked for 9+ years doesn't mean Mullen is at fault.

He was interested in the Ole Miss job and it came down to him and Kiffin. The Rebs chose wrong and that will work out for us.
our site said that Napier's agent reached out to Keith Carter, but no interview took place. i dont even think keith called him lol

Didn't he just sign an extension like yesterday?
He technically has had 2 extensions this year.
one before or at the start of the season and one after the season ended. Thru 2025 now.

He had you in a bowl game the first 2 years and gave yall the 2nd best record for a coach in his first 2 years in your program history. That is absolutely amazing for you. Unless he did something criminal, it's a really stupid move. Sorry. Again, y'all are extremely delusional.

Again, this isn't some amazing feat. We made a bowl game every year this decade. His first year was probably the most talented State Defense in history. This year was a train wreck, and we won 6 games despite him.

I have heard that Billy Napier agreed in principle to a deal before this process was set in motion. He will coach their bowl game Monday and be introduced Tuesday as State’s new coach.

LSU should have kept Les Miles!

-We've been to 10 straight bowl games.
-He lost at least 6 games where we were favored.
But, again, it wasn't on field issues.
It was time and probably a pretty mutual decision, regardless of what is said in the press conferences

Mississippi State is playing 4d chess. They waited until all of the good coaches were off the table to save them the embarrassment of being told "no".

Throw $6M a year at him and make him say no. If that doesn't work, make it $6.5M.
Folks say this every time a position at a non-elite program comes open and there's a hot young name out there.

HOWEVER.... I'm hearing Hill staying is a real possibility. At least it was up until now. I'm sure my friend will keep me in the loop.

Minnesota is a much better job than Mississippi State and fricking Starkville.

You just pulled that out of your arse, no where was that said. We never talked to Napier, he was one of the first to reach out through his agent though. We went Campbell(No), then Kiffin(No), then Leach (was next but got pissed we offered Kiffin first so he said no and signed extension), then Harsin (no), then Drink (no way we would pay 4 mil for a 1st year coach after the Morris fiasco, but his dream job is Arkansas so if Pittman fails and he’s successful we will steal him from Mizzou) and then Pittman. This is 100% the order that our coaching search went down.
We never talked to Napier so quit making shite up.
LOL. You never talked to Napier because he told you he wasn't interested in interviewing. Your own people reported that. Drinkwitz and Norvell also told Arkansas to pound sand. Kiffin had his pick and chose Ole Miss, which says a lot.
I really hope Pittman works out for you guys but he wasn't your first choice. He probably wasn't your 5th choice.

The big brother up north got a new toy and now the meth-addled, cross eyed little brother in Starkville wants a toy too.
