What will the melt be like if Florida wins in Baton Rouge?

I know my dating record was solid and my wife is a knockout, but I don't think I have much of a shot with Kate. Thanks though.

Is there a dumber fan base on the rant than LSU?

This is a rhetorical question.

Yes we have game this year, and back to back home games in 2017 and 2018 in Gainesville, fair resolution to the problem.

This is Sankey slapping Foley for dodging the game last weekend. Sankey knows that Foley never offered a backup plan and all of his excuses about players families and such didn't hold water because everyone else in Florida found a way to play, and even the Gator volleyball and soccer teams played. 1/22/15 Never Forget

Exactly! Everybody said this guy was weak. Hell, anyone who is about to hand out $40+M checks is not weak. Probably asked Foley if UF would like to get their's.

LSU would have been better off playing at UF SAT, SUN, or Mon. Obviously, UF would have been better off delaying the game to get healthy and a full loud stadium.

This is a definite compromise.

Now LSU has got a jammed schedule this year and an off balance schedule next year yet an extra home game in a borderline throw away year (this year).

Nice for LSU but now they have to play at UF in 2017 and 2018 so really nice that UF gets back to back homes games with the tigers

Yet they weren't interested in playing in Baton Rouge last Sat, Sun, or Mon when their starting QB and entire D line was still injured. Hmmm. Interesting

I hear ya. Great points. Likely had zero to do with the hurricane that was coming their way and was projected to cause massive damage to a region where 50+ of their players are from. Had zero to do with the logistics of it all either.

I wouldn't be shocked. Why do you think there'd be some huge melt, Jethro?

So why did no other Florida team have an issue with it?

I am actually happy that Sankey showed some testicular fortitude and made this happen. For him to drop the bomb that all teams must play 8 conference games to be eligible for the championship is probably what made Foley and the Gators cave in on the move of the game instead of being able to potentially back into the SEC Championship game.

I am not pleased that LSU lost next year's game against Florida, but at the end of the day, this is probably the best resolution for all parties involved considering the circumstances.

Bravo to all parties involved on coming to a resolution.

I think everybody loses here. But the butthurt from the other SEC schools in this thread was pretty funny.

I said a week ago what was holding us back from playing @ LSU there was their unwillingness to give two in a row back, so I'm feeling rather vindicated.

So you can kiss my arse, the lot of you.

Perhaps b/c of where they were in relation to the path of the storm and the timing of when the storm was coming through their area in comparison to where Gainesville was and the timing of that storm through that town. I would think that LSU fans of ALL fan bases would have more compassion and understanding over this given the unique tragic experiences your state has had over the years.

It's also not true. UCF and Tulane rescheduled for Nov. 5, a fact somehow lost by many who frequent sports forums it would seem.

So does that still make Florida pussies? We dodged them in the Swamp to play them in Death Valley.

You didn't have much choice. SEC said the game had to be played. LSU was not giving up the home game on the 19th.
