Brandon Harris and LSU. Buy or sell

LSU is going to be loaded in talent this season. My take rides on what QB does. He can only be better as a more experienced QB.
With a solid defense and a solid OL in front of both LF and Harris, it's getting hard for me not to see Lsu in the hunt. Those are just facts. What say you?

Glad you are thinking of LSU at 5:45 in the morning

Those are mostly opinions but yes LSU is the favorite in the west. Vegas has LSU favored in every game. Including bama

This might just be the year that they can overcome sub-par quarterback play. Everyone knows Brandon Harris is not a good QB but he doesn't have to be good to win a championship, he just has to be average. The defense will carry this team and all-world receivers plus the nation's best RB will take the pressure off of Harris. Buy, I think they go 11-1.

Sell...Harris is not a good qb. He is Jermery Johnson with NFL WRs. Only now Harris' WRS will regress due to Craig being their coach.

Sell. I'm pulling for LSU, but just glancing at the LSU schedule:
@Wisconsin
@ Auburn
@ Florida
Ole Miss
Alabama
@ Arkansas
@ aggy
They've got a lot of tough games. Regarding Harris, he's got a great arm, but I've never been impressed with his play. I've never seen him drive the team down the field by picking apart a defense with a strategic mix of passes (that could be due to the coaching calls). A lot of the time, his receivers are either wide open or he just flings it up there and lets them make a play on the ball.
ETA: It'll be interesting to see how Harris does against Missouri of all teams. They should have a very stiff run defense this year. While I think Fournette will still get his yards, they may be more difficult to come by than most are expecting. It may force Harris to make plays against their secondary.

From an offensive standpoint, LSU will struggle against the better defenses in the league. They would be a freaking nightmare and probably no doubt win a national title if they had Chad Kelly under center.
Thankfully they have a very, very mediocre Brandon Harris at quarterback. They have a blue-chip corp of wide receivers and Dupre is as good as anyone in the SEC. Those guys grabbed a lot of balls that were just thrown up for grabs and they will do it again.
LSU has a really good chance at winning the conference because the defense *might* be elite again. If their defense can be top notch then they will have enough offense to be in a position to win every game on the schedule. Having Fournette is just icing on the cake. I understand the optimism by corndog fans and I agree with it.

Buy baby buy....those saying sell are just fooling themselves. Harris was having a great year until our Nov skid started...everyone wants to forget how talented he can be. And a lot of what happened in Nov had to do with our play in the trenches. (Not Harris)

I'll have to see it first to buy Harris. And I mean see it by not being crappy vs crappy teams is the first place to start

I am reluctant to buy. IMO Harris is still iffy at best. I didn't see much of an O line last season. And Les is still the coach.

Sell. Always overhyped. Always a let down. They will lose to bama. Then lose to the Hogs again after their fans say the players have given up on the season after the loss to the tide.

What is he supposed to be thinking about?
State football?

I think the Missouri game will be a good measuring stick for Harris, similar to Florida last year.
Harris's problems at the end of last year was due to an injury in the Bama on the TD pass to Dural, which resulted in him getting sports hernia surgery at the end of the season, and atrocious line play.
I also think a lot of our problems with QB play is holding them back early in the season, which may be because of a combination of things, and not letting them go. It seems as if you need to earn the staffs confidence, instead of just letting them play with no pressure and not being afraid to make a mistake against opponents we vastly outmatch.
However, I think Harris is gonna have a good year this year. Before the injury at bama he was a little above average, middle of the road in the SEC. The last 4 games of the regular season he, along with the rest of the team, was pretty terrible. He looked like he did against other teams early in the season during the game vs Tech.
He has the arm to do it, he just needs more confidence from himself, the staff, and more refining which you gain with experience.
My prediction is
180/300(~60%) 2500 19 TDs 8 INT
250 rushing yards 3 TDs

Not that he is great BUT, coaching QBs has been a nightmare at LSU. Miles is a good coach overall but receives an 'F' when it comes to putting his QB in a position to succeed. You as a Bama fan should recognize that first.

Danny Etling and LSU, buy or sell? Buy.
