Bold move by Athletic Director Steve Patterson. Was reported this summer that in addition to raising the price of tickets by as much as 50% in some cases, a new plan to charge fans $2500 a year for the "right" to tailgate on a shitty patch of grass next to the stadium, having the lowest paid assistant coaching staff in all of the Big 12, alienating faculty by revoking ticket priviledges, selling an additional 25% of their stadium space for advertising, and pissing off almost every alumni associated with the program.........they had the stones to try pulling all of this off while putting a 4-5 win football team on the field while getting their asses kicked on the recruiting trail by A&M.

No matter what any of you say, there's not a team in the SEC that has arrogance levels even within the same stratosphere of what's in Austin.

Bama fans will be by to argue how that is not true, shortly.

There's also probably not an alumni base that has a more perfect mix of delusion, sense of entitlement, and wealth as the University of Texas either.

Yep, they think they can do whatever they want and when they want...even to their own. Pompous!

The miscalculations made by Texas athletics over the last few years are mind boggling. Not joining the SEC and letting A&M do so; the Longhorn Network; and the bungling of it's last coaching change. All head-scratchers.

And with less money in a shittier state, too. Actually pretty impressive.

Steve Patterson makes the AD braintrust at Tennessee look like visionaries. He might be the worst Director in Collegiate Athletics. Maybe of the past 25 years.

Strong is a goner if they don't win many games this year. Texas isn't gonna be very patient with the amount of money they can spend on a coach.
