Yeah I miss pretty much all of basketball. Like ideally we would just play basketball in the Big 12. SEC basketball sucks

I've been pretty disappointed in SEC baseball as well as a whole. With all the revenue from football you'd think we'd be fielding better coaches and players.

at least we have parity. over half a dozen schools have won the SEC the last decade. A&M hasnt been in the big 12 for over 5 years and still is 2nd in conf titles. nebraska still 3rd.

You know what schools would be great for the Big XII?

Missouri and Nebraska

Missouri and Nebraska would be an excellent fit in the Big 8

An opportunity to win a conference. Playing in traditional recruiting territories. Less travel. There are many reasons Arky would consider the move. IF the LHN were scrapped, and profit sharing was enacted, what would be the reason to stay in the SEC?

SEC is simply more entertaining.

A Big 8 with Arkansas and Texas A&M... and two other teams not named Texas, would be entertaining as hell.

You will never get Arkansas, A&M, Nebraska, Missouri, or Colorado to willingly share a conference with Texas again. I'd rather have Colorado State and Houston in that place.

I'm sure it's buried in this thread.. but think about how well Arkansas could travel. Hell, Lawerence, KS would be a damn home game for the hogs.

Arkansas-OU would be huge.

I've been saying it for years. Arkansas' best shot at a title would be to catch an SEC team in the playoff. They'll never be able to run through the gauntlet every year. It boils down to recruiting and SEC-level recruiting is simply a geographic impossibility for Ark.

Petrino had y'all trending in the right direction.

You don't need to be in the Big 12 to have a chance at succeeding.

You just need the right coach.

I doubt Arkansas ever moves, but they should set up a home and home with a nearby team like the SEC/ACC teams do. Why not play Oklahoma State every year?

OU is looking for a way to not play Iowa St every year.

That has become a very pathetic conference.

Totally agree

From the LSU perspective, it feels like all the East teams other than Florida are in a separate universe. Not only do you only play them once every 6 years, but you only have 3-4 common opponents with them each season.

The Big12 added a TCU team that is in Texas, where they already have Texas, Texas Tech and Baylor. And a WVU that was turned down by the SEC in favor of Missouri(which the Big12 lost) because it's a better market.

They will likely take anything they can and dread the day they have to take BYU and Boise St instead.

This is true. Time for some contraction.

The problem isn't that there are 14 teams.

It's that Bama refuses to have a schedule where they don't play Auburn and Tennessee every year.

That's part of the problem. In general, it feels like less of a "league" than in the 1990s. There used to be two permanent East opponents and the rest rotated on a predictable schedule. Now you never know who you're playing one year to the next.

As the poster posted earlier in the thread, Arkansas and Vandy have played football 6 times since 1992. Are we even in the same conference?

Dropping Hogs and Mizzou would not hurt the SEC tv brand at all and you could basically split the same money 12 ways instead of 14.

You are aware that the cable subscriber count in the state of Missouri is bigger than that of the state of Louisiana?
