Even if you didn’t to start the game for whatever reason, it would have been very easy to add it after the first or, if you’re that dumb, second touchdown run!

I loved Les Miles and thought he never should have been fired.

Using a spy on a mobile QB isn't always the smartest move. UGA did this with Roquan Smith on Baker Mayfield and Mayfield torched us in the first half.

In the second half we stopped spying him and went with our normal defensive packages (which involved a lot of blitzes from various places without a spy) and it worked by getting pressure on Mayfield.

I don't know if Milroe has that type of passing threat though, so a spy probably is more sensible.

allow LSUs dline to continually rush themselves out of the play

We have a true freshman LT (Kadyn Proctor) who struggles at times, and LSU linemen were routinely just allowing themselves to be ridden right past Milroe.

Conversely, the LSU LT (Will Campell?) had maybe his worst game against Turner.

In other words, I think the LT/DE matchups were huge factors in this game, both of which went in our favor.

Props to Daniels though, he still played a fantastic game.

I’d rather have seen Milroe beat us with an intermediate passing game

So would we, but sometimes, one has to accept the limitations they face. That miss to Bond for a wide-open TD was emblematic of the deficiencies in that part of his game.

That said, happy Rees finally adjusted and used Milroes best asset in the game plan.

Maybe he was worried about the young DBs in coverage and didn't want to sacrifice the coverage to add a spy.

Ding ding ding.

He had to decide whether to get beat deep or force Milroe to beat them running the ball.

He chose door number 2z

We literally gave them the blueprint. Plus, Perkins off the edge was used against them & they made zero adjustments.

milroe never tried to run really in the Texas game

He did. Hill ran him down twice. Then he quit.

LSU's interior guys aren't in the same strosphere as Texas' we're. Texas created a locked pocket and Milroe didn't have any lanes to operate with. His only scrambles were when he backtracked then tried to run in an arc. Texas did a great job and Jalen made miserable decisions on when to run/throw the entire game. Not to mention our OL with Roberts at guard and full implementation of helping Proctor with TEs and RBs has changed our pass pro pretty significantly the last 3 weeks.

Milroe has gotten better as the year went on and Saturday was his best. If LSU had taken a back end guy away and spied we woulda thrown over their heads and Jalen would have beaten the spy multiple times.

Our OL imposed their will on their DL for almost the entire game. Once that happened and their DBs were bad/young, their defense had no scheme left to do anything but maybe steal a possession.

How the frick does LSU not have interior DL? They wilted against FSU too.

Smith hasn't come back from his injury very well and Mingo has been playing injured from what it sounds like (and didn't play at all against us).

BK literally has the best possible spy option in Harold Perkins and just noped out. Pretty wild.

He's going to have to learn that he's not playing Stanford and Navy anymore.
