I don't follow this so closely, but aren't we coming to an end of the crazy tv deals? I thought Disney was cutting costs and it seems like growing the conference to that degree may just lead to diminishing returns.

No Notre Dame or is it accepted that the vetting process would be as waste of time and they’d be unanimously accepted?

Truth be told, UF is brining down the perception of the SEC with their lack of commitment to athletic excellence in major sports.

I never imagined I could see so much stupid from one person

Congrats!

UF has always been the “little brother” program of the Big 3 Florida teams.

WTF are you talking about?

FSU has always had attendance problems at their stadium, even when they're good. Miami is even much more of a joke for their "fan support." There are SUBSTANTIALLY more Florida fans than Miami and FSU combined. How many championships do you have in the big 3 sports?

Just foolish to spew out complete lies.

What are you talking about? UF has run through a number of coaches post-Meyer.

UF is at our lowest point athletically in decades, and still finishing top 5 in directors cup every year. It’s the flagship school in a huge state. Highly successful program at a top 5 public school, obviously UF would be the biggest pull for any conference. Just ain’t happening.

That is completely backwards. How in the world did you come to this conclusion

Technically Miami has more "fans" than FSU, they just don't go to the games.

They're also an AAU member now, I could see them going to the Big 10.

Psh, throw in Harvard and Yale. Sure, they’re not close to the Southeast, but they’ll raise OUR academic profile.

But the FSU- and Miami brands are really what people think of when they think of elite college football in the state of Florida

30 years ago this was very accurate. Today….not so much.

OP, as soon as Colorado makes the move to the Big10, the flood gates will open. PAC10 is not long for this world.

In all of this realignment, I never did think about the costs of minor sports traveling. However that reinforces what I have always thought; the athletic programs that do make a profit will split from the ncaa. Maybe 30-40 schools will create their own division.

Cal- Nopey Nope Nope

Duke- supports child abuse and forced mutilation

Georgia Tech- LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Miami- Nope though it might be their best option when this shite all goes down

North Carolina- Good fit

Oregon- Hell of a trip but with Nike money they could do it

Stanford- Even aTm thinks they are gay

Utah- Do they bring enough to the table?

Virginia- could see this

Washington- Same as Oregon without Nike.

FSU is in the panhandle.

Florida is south of the panhandle.

The Big10 is going to implode. What is their reason for trying to get so large?

Notre Dame hates the Big10. It would be more likely for them to join the SEC than the Big10. ND will never join the Big10.

Florida exists as it does because it’s the only SEC school in a massive state.

UF is a top 50 university in the nation and has a massive enrollment that exceeds most SEC schools. They also have a passionate fan base that sells out their stadium routinely.

All of that would be true regardless of whether FSU was in the SEC or not.

This isn’t backed up by donor support, attendance in football, basketball or any other metric I can think of.

Setting the comparisons aside, FSU is one of the few schools in the ACC that would fit in the SEC along with Clemson IMO.

Based on what? UF sells out routinely and few if any of them are coming from the panhandle. It’s heavily weighted from a fan perspective from Duval/Jacksonville -> Orlando -> Tampa. It’s worth noting there are more people in that triangle than any SEC state outside of TX and GA.

If you want to argue Miami specifically doesn’t care about CFB maybe but that’s a very different argument.
