Tough call on college. Bumphis has the stats but McDole was great playing in a totally different style of play.

College - Mardye McDole
Pro - Eric Moulds

All you silly Bama fans and not one mention of David Palmer. Of course, he was more known for being a punt returner and specialist than a pure WR, but the dude made some great catches. Before Julio, Alabama fans were always waiting for the next David Palmer.

I would call Palmer an AP guy, much like Prothro though both guys played WR and made great catches they were more known for their "jitterbug" roles than their route running.

Agree on he and Palmer not being pure receivers, but man were they electric. Prothro is still my all-time favorite player.

Historically Don Hutson. He was the first star split end in NFL history. He is considered by many to have been the first modern receiver. 1. College - He was a consensus All-American in 1934. He was on Bama's 1934 NC team that beat Stanford in the Rose Bowl. . College Football Hall of Fame inductee (1951) 2. NFL - He signed with the Green Bay Packers after college. It was the first of 99 receiving touchdowns, an NFL record that would stand for 44 years after his retirement. . Career highlights and awards . 8× First-Team All-Pro (1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945) . 4× Pro Bowl selection (1939-1942) . 3× NFL Champion (1936, 1939, 1944) . Coach Bryant was known as "the other end" because he played opposite side to Hudson.
Trivia question: Who was the Alabama coach who recruited both Hudson and Bryant from out of Arkansas?

Not that it is rocket surgery but Hutson later in his career invented the Post, the Corner, the Dig, and the Seam.

A ton of Vol WRs from the 80's and 90's to pick from.

1. College Career - Probably Joey Kent (183 receptions, 2,447 yards, 25 TDs)

2. NFL Career - While there have been a ton of great Vol receivers in the NFL...I'm going old school and saying Stanley Morgan (4x Pro Bowls, 2x All Pro, 557 receptions, 10,716 yards, 72 TDs)

3. Best lifetime achievement - Probably Willie Gault. 110-Meter records in the '81 & '82 SEC Championships. Part of world record setting 4x100 relay team (made Olympic team that boycotted '80 Summer Olympics). Made Olympic Bobsledding team. Current world record holder for 100 Meter for 45-49 age group in Masters Athletics (10.72 at age 46). Set world record for 50-54 age group in both 100 meter (10.88) and 200 meter (22.44) at age 51. Oh...he also won a Super Bowl with the '85 bears...still, his best lifetime achievement...dancing in "The Super Bowl Shuffle".

The Deuce is loose.

He was a consensus All-American at Alabama and was 3rd in the heisman race. He was on the 1992 NC team that beat Miami in the Sugar Bowl.

He was picked in the 2nd round by the Vikings for the NFL draft. He had a very good career of 7 years, leading the league in punt returns during the 1995 season.

1 - Gotta go with Peerless Price here. I know Kent, Morgan, Gault, Nash, Meacham, Stallworth, Harper, Pickens and the endless list may have better stats but Price was by far our biggest weapon on the 98' offense. We are a 4 loss team with out him that year.

2 - May end up being Patterson, but I think you do have to go with Stanley Morgan here. Alvin Harper had a damn fine career as well.

3 - Def can't argue with Gault.

2) Earl Bennett (if only he'd had a decent QB, he would have been mentioned with JMatt as one of the best receivers in the SEC)

Didn't he play with Cutler?

College - Mike Evans followed closely by Fuller and Swope.
NFL - Tannehill
Achievement - Tannehill. Why? Have you seen his wife?
