Same Husk that is in Nashville?

Yes. Sean Brock is the chef.

Charleston has tons of good restaurants. It's been a while since I've been there but I'll throw out D'Allesandro's pizza as a top place.

I just don't understand how people can keep going back there year after year for a long vacation.

my parents bought a house in sandestin in the 90’s before it was overgrown. Many good memories were had there but unfortunately they had to sell it. the area started it’s downward trend in the early 2010s. we started noticing culture being brought in by the busload from places like nola, birmingham, and atlanta. if we vacation back to the emerald coast we go to a quiet town on 30a like watersound or alys

Big Sky, MT- Gallatin Riverhouse Grill- Amazing place to spend an evening in the summer and Bucks T4 for great mountain fare. Why go to the hot arse crowded beach when you can enjoy the mountains?

I love Dewey’s

We used to go slay fish all day and then take it up to Dewey’s for them to cook it for us

Can’t get fresher than that!

Here’s a Destin pic

Gotta be some places in Charleston that could compete here.

Ate at the Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan's Island and had a great meal.
yes OD is hard to beat - there's plenty of fine dining for the full bar/food experience all around the City.

now fine dining aside -

it y'all want the best seafood/soul food in Charleston - it's always been at 42 Morris St - 3-5 lbs of pure taste in a styrofoam box for under $15 - https://www.facebook.com/people/Daves-Carry-Out/100057351044525/

Can't believe Pirate's on Dauphin hasn't made the list. It's right next to the RTJ course on the Gulf.

to each his own. big sky is amazing and
i love the mountains, but i'm also not bothered by the heat. a beach trip imo is also more relaxing. everything enjoyable in the mountains takes a bit of work. sometimes i just like to sit on my arse and drink

Louisiana Lagniappe and Marina Cafe and Dewey Destin in Destin.

Stinky's Fish Camp on 30A

Marina Cafe has the best Filet in the Destin area, Louisiana Lagniappe best overall menu...the blackened reddish is phenomenal as is the Filet Oscar

Just got back from my regular two weeks in San Destin in May, then we go back for another two weeks the last week of Octo er into first week of November.

Too many yankees have invaded the Redneck Riviera in the past 25 years, 35 yrs ago it was great as it was mainly all of us southeaterners. Destin area is way to busy now

I used to love the beach. The older I get the less desirable mid-summer trips are. Early May or October are best times and far less crowded. 10 pm sunsets in Big Sky after a long hike are my happy spots now.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Borago in Grayton. Everything is so fresh and it's the best Italian food I've ever had.

Miss. Bobo’s in Lynchburg. You eat “Boarding House” style while the host tells you a story. Then take a tour of the Jack Daniel’s distillery. It’s worth every penny.
