I just moved from there after living there for 10 years and Destin has drastically gone down hill.

The restaurants are filthy with horrible service, trashy people and literally nothing to do outside of the beach, crab island and fishing.

I still visit from time to time because I love fishing in the Gulf but living there absolutely fricking sucked. Very boring place to live

The few things that could be fun to do are absolute shitholes

Big kahunas should be shut down. It’s the same fricking price as a water park in Orlando.

Ate at the Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan's Island and had a great meal.

Drank at the Griffon and, while it was fun, it was a bit too touristy.

The Bay
George’s
Stinky’s

If you get over towards Sanderson, Vintij Wine Bar is awesome, and though it’s a chain, I actually love Tommy Bahama. It’s surprisingly solid.

For PCB I'll go with:

Captain Andersons
Firefly
Dat Cajun Place (an up and comer since moving into a nicer facility near Bay Point)
Dusty's for oysters
Alibi for a dive bar with good food

For St Andrews:

Captain's Table
Bayou Joes
Uncle Earnie's
Hunt Brothers

Meltdown on 30A in Seaside

Not really a restaurant as it’s a food truck, but good lord it’s so good, my mouth is watering now all the way in Texas.

Great Southern Cafe is great too.

Been going since college days at Auburn. Fort Walton use to be on fire with Victors night club. Fort Walton Yacht Basin and the original Hog's Breath Saloon. We use to bar hop in a boat.
Like you, I only go to fish in the bay. Hell, The Shrimp Boat has better food than the high end restaurants!!!

I must have caught Stinky's on a bad day. Full of flies and mediocre food. Louisiana Lagniappe in Destin was ok but I preferred Emeril's Coastal.

I know we all argue a lot on here, but I love going to Destin every year and seeing all of the hats of Ole Miss, MSU, UT, Bama, Auburn, and so on. Wouldn't rather live anywhere in the world than the southeast. See y'all in June

I like both. Went into Emeril's 2 summers ago and Emeril was in the kitchen. Joe Theismann walked in while we were eating and chat with Emeril for a bit.

Destin has so much potential with its beauty. I am talking potential to be like a Cabo or Siesta Key, etc but it never will be because they keep marketing the area to shitty areas of the country.

The Chamber of Commerce/Tourism people do not care about QUALITY - they only care about QUANTITY.

I do not understand how people keep going there every single year. There is nothing to do in Destin.

There is really no bar scene, there is no club scene, there is really no family scene, there are no entertainment options. The HaborWalk has not been updated with anything new in 5+ years. The water park is a complete shithole, money grab piece of garbage, the restaurants SUCK. The shopping is awful. The traffic, etc etc etc

I just don't understand how people can keep going back there year after year for a long vacation.

Club LA is pretty cool. Have seen live music at several places there and always had fun. Just spent 4 days at the Moon Crush music festival last month and saw the Black Crowes.

I moved to this area almost five years ago. Skull creek boathouse is cool but bluffton and hilton are extremely underwhelming foodwise. Beaufort has some gems. I just cook at home now and if I feel like eating out ill drive to charleston(goat restaurant city in south carolina) or savannah
