Best in what way? Size, newness view of the game. If it is view of the action on the field it is Southern Miss stadium hands down. Don’t laugh if you have not watched a game there. It’s true.

I caught a U of Miami v. FSU game in the old Orange Bowl back when it was Jimmie Johnson v. Bobby Bowden. Place was a dump, but the game was electric.

The size of Beaver Stadium was part of it. It was also a night game and a white-out game and it was just different. I will admit, their fans brought it for that game. They were also very cordial to us visiting Auburn fans. The crowd seemed to rival Int'l soccer crowds that night.
I 100% believe you about Southern Miss's stadium. I've got a co-worker who graduated there and he has told me about it. The best view I've ever had from the seats, of any stadium I've ever been in, was in 2008 at Vanderbilt. We were on the 2nd row but the way that stadium was built, our 2nd row seats were probably 12 to 15 foot above the field. They've done alot of upgrades to that stadium since I was last there in 2008, so it may look totally different from back then. And just like the Penn State fans, all of the Vanderbilt fans that tailgated around us were very welcoming and same went for the Vandy people around our section. Tbh, I've heard REALLY bad stories about certain fanbases treating the visiting fans like complete garbage but I've never experienced anything like that and I've been to 20+ stadiums throughout my lifetime.

indeed, especially considering the 1 open endzone layout and the fact that construction was going on

The cotton bowl in Dallas for the TX-OU game. I've been a bunch even before they joined the SEC. The stadium itself isn't great, but the atmosphere is great and more often than not it's a good game.

I used to go to a lot of games at rice stadium in houston back in the 80s. Back then a great stadium to watch a college game.
I remember when Rice Stadium hosted the Super Bowl.

Rice-Eccles at Utah. Had just been rebuilt for Winter Olympics. Great views.
