He's good, but he would be a terrible fit in the deep south.

Yeah he's definitely a Midwest guy. He was a much better fit at Wisconsin or Nebraska than probably any other opening. I have more confidence in him succeeding than I do Rhule or Freeze. I would not feel the same way about him if he was at somewhere like Auburn.

Why do you not have confidence in Rhule succeeding? He only took one of the worst jobs in America and turned it around from 1-11 to 11-3 in three seasons

Baylor was on probation but it was NEVER one of the worst jobs in America. Baylor has MONEY and they are heavily invested in their athletic programs.

Auburn came in 3rd here. But don’t think the other two would’ve been good fits at Auburn.

I think they hit a homerun for their program, personally. Freeze at AU is more dangerous than the other two IMO.

One player I thought about when Freeze was announced was Robby Ashford. You saw his performance on Saturday and know he can run the ball, but he needs work on his passing and footwork. I cannot think of a better coach who can make this guy a star.

Freeze will win games at Auburn.
Fickell has a tough hill to climb just to outperform his predecessor imo. The Big 10 West is garbage though, so he’ll have his chances.
Rhule would be better in the Big 12 or Pac 12. I think he struggles at Nebraska.

It’s impossible to say but I actually like all 3.

I didn't say anything about Rhule. That's just how highly I think of Fickell and how well I think he'll do there. I think those two will have some really good battles for the Big 10 West going forward.

All three guys seem to be winners.

If I had my choice for LSU it would be
Rhule
Fickell

They lost by 7 to a healthy and fresh Arkansas team before the Jefferson superman play.

Freeze will win some games and lose some stinkers. Fickell will do about the same as the Wisconsin coaches before him. Matt Rhule will get Nebraska back to winning 8 or 9 games a year.

I think Wisconsin but you never know how these things work out. Most people thought Herman at Texas and Frost at Nebraska were great hires. At least one of the 3 will probably be gone in 3 or 4 years.

Fickell will be competing for the Big 10 title in his first or second season. He will also win the Big 10 before Rhule. Not necessarily a better coach but the circumstances are night and day. Wisconsin is about to be a big time player. Grand slam hire.

Wisconsin and it isn’t close.

Nebraska had more issues than just a coach, I do think Matt R is a great coach though.

Auburn is a distant 3rd. I think Freeze us awful hire, only think worse is Auburns boosters.

Fickell will do the usual at Wisconsin. But he will be limited like the coaches before him because they struggle recruiting athletic bodies with speed to Madison.

Rhule is at a much worse situation because recruits don't want to go to Lincoln and they unlike Wisconsin has no sense of identity or direction.

They will get tired of Freeze and his inconsistent coaching. Also it doesn't help that his baggage of allegations is heavy and would get tiring being on the defensive all the time.

Auburn is going to win the SEC under Hugh Freeze. The sooner you accept it, the sooner you can move on

You’ve won the SEC 3 times in the past 33 years. If Freeze can keep the job for 11 years then odds are AU will win the sec with freeze.
