College only list then?

Mathieu has been a top safety in the league and at one point was the highest paid safety

He was great for 2 seasons, but his sophomore year was phenomenal. As a freshman, he led the SEC in forced fumbles and fumble recoveries and was freshman All-SEC. He was also incredible in the bowl win and was named defensive MVP.

That's true, but Tyrann's freshman season wouldn't rank in the top 50 of individual defensive seasons in LSU history. We talkin all time in this thread.

Give me Johnny Cooks or Fletcher Cox for MSU

Outside of Fletcher Cox if he stays healthy for the next few years, Kent Hull is probably the best shot we have of getting someone in the pro football HOF (via the NFL Veterans vote). 2 X 1st team All-Pro and 3 X pro bowler with four SB appearances.

If you'd just get the word "IDIOT" tattooed across your forehead, you would never even have to open your mouth.

I had forgotten about Casanova. One of my all time favorite players for LSU.

I agree 100%. The best thing he ever did was make a prediction. He was good, but he only threw north of 50% comp percentage a couple of times in the pros.

Sorry. I agree with him.

ETA
He played 13 NFL seasons and only busted a 50% comp percentage 6 times. He threw for more than 3,000 yards 3 times and averaged around 10 TD a year. I get it that he played in a more run friendly league, but there a re a lot of QB's during that time that had better stats.

Alabama - John Hannah
Auburn - Forrest Blue
Arkansas - Dan Hampton
Florida -- John Reaves
Georgia -- Fran Tarkenton
Kentucky -- George Blanda
LSU -- Tommy Casanova
Ole Miss -- Charlie Conerly
Missouri -- Dan Dierdorf
Miss State -- DD Lewis
South Carolina -- Dan Reeves
Tennessee -- Bob Sufferidge
Texas A&M -- Dave Elmendorf
Vanderbilt -- Bill Wade

I'm late so I know most of the obvious have been selected. I kinda sorta tried to commingle college and pro career.

Changing my MSU vote to Blondy Black.

Feature back of MSU's only undefeated season of '41.
2x All SEC back, 41 and 42.

Ahead of his time as the first of the big backs - 200lb RB who was also the fastest man on the team. 3 year letterman in track

I'd put charlie trippi over Tarkenton.

Hell... I may put David Pollack over Tark because of his 3 time All-American status.
