re: How hard does military recruiting numbers fall in the next few months?

His comment was...
"I’ve never met a fellow service member who joined on behalf of the country or government."
I rephrased it as "patriotic reasons".
Neither are synonymous to, as you said, "a sense of duty".

That was one of my reasons as well; kind of a family tradition. But I was threated by my brother that if I joined the Marines, he would come home and kick my rear end. He was in Viet Nam when he gave that threat. I believed him. lol

Me either...I figure lots of people join for patriotic reasons after large events like 9/11, but otherwise it's for personal reasons.
I don't get all the downvotes.
re: What’s a book that you wish you’d never read...

All James Clavell novels...Shogun, Noble House, King Rat, etc.

I read it back during my days in the Navy...I think it had just been published. It was easy to read and made me really appreciate MacArthur more.

Skip it and read Lord of the Flies.
Very easy to read and thought provoking.

Here in Georgia, they express the problem with liability, but very seldom take drastic steps to enforce it.

Good for him...
Kicking Pence to the curb is a bit like beating the cat when the dog crapped on the floor.

Yes, but you can change the name of the link. Blind links are suspect.
re: How the F do you explain this - Trump tax returns

The accountant is only responsible if he deliberately files a false return. The responsibility for giving correct information is on the taxpayer.

As well as AOC, but who is controlling them. I don't think it is the Democrat Party. My guess is Soros and his Open Society bunch and/or the CRT people.

This is where the Democrats have played a dangerous game thinking they could co-opt Antifa or BLM.

It is a BS word. Does not mean equality, just like diversity and inclusion don't mean what most think they do. CRT is changing word definitions while we sleep.
