Will Reichard is, in the last 2 years:

- 155/156 on XP
- 24/25 inside 40 yards
- 10/14 from 40-49
- 3/4 from 50+

Not so fast...

You dropped Reichard's first year. If we drop Mevis' 1st year we get this:

- 41/41 on XP
- 9/9 inside 40 yards
- 11/13 from 40-49
- 3/3 from 50+

Even if we include his freshman year...

- 69/69 on XP
- 20/22 inside 40 yards
- 13/16 from 40-49
- 6/7 from 50+

Mevis certainly may be the best in the league. We're just happy not to be lamenting being last

Like you even need a kicker.

You gotta give us something

seems like Auburn generally has had elite kickers and punters the past 20 or so years.

2005 Auburn @ LSU was rough. Missed 5 FG that game and lost by a FG in overtime.

The kicker at Auburn. They always have the best in the country.

Mevis followed very closely by Cam Little.

Both of those are absolute weapons. They have won games, or at least greatly effected them. Get a good kicker and suddenly things change. Rather than go for a low percentage 4th down play having someone who can reliably put three points on the board is really nice.

There are three phases of the game. Offense. Defense. Special teams. If you ignore special teams you get the Kick 6.

Mevis is already preseason All-American in at least one publication. Probably the best player we have this year
until AU convinces him to transfer so we can put him on our OL

Never understood why these rarely seem to work out. Should to be a position that would be easy to evaluate.

It’s like a 6 foot putt with a little break in it. It’s not about talent, but what’s between the ears. Placekickers have to have a certain personality that is immune to crowds and noise. Most Pro kickers get better after being cut once.

For sure the best in the SEC.

Cam Little is 2nd best.

This is the best field of kickers in the SEC (as a whole) that I can recall.

I just hope we fixed our FG kicker problem. Guy cost us 2 or 3 wins last season. A reliable kicker and we would have won 10 games

We got Massimo Biscardi from Coastal Carolina. He's hit on 81% of his FG's for his career with a long of 53. Hopefully, he's the answer. Our special teams haven't been very special under Leach.

How he went from 1st team all SEC to being voted preseason 3rd team is fricking hilarious and sad.

Yep, that big dude is money, he’s very good.

You have to remember there’s a media guy who voted Vandy #1 so there is a credibility issue. Though I can be the biggest homer, Mevis would get my vote just for the pressure kicks I’ve seen him make. You’ll definitely miss him when he leaves…. I won’t….haha..

Mevis or Cam Little. Both are good. Mevis has totally earned pre-season All America honors as he’s been excellent during his entire tenure. If Little keeps kicking like he did last year, he’ll likely be in the same boat next year.

Well, Little was a freshman and has less body of work than Mevis who has got to be George Blanda old right now, seems he’s been there forever.

He’s consistently proven himself in big situations

That kick against you all two years ago and that 53 yarder against BC as time expired were both insane. We are lucky to have that mofo for sure.

Sucks that the name on the front of his jersey takes away the accolades he deserves.
