1951 Georgia Tech vs. Tennessee
Tennessee went undefeated at (10-0-0) winning the consensus national title before bowl loss. Georgia Tech went unbeaten at (11-0-1). Both are recognized as co-SEC champions.

1966 Alabama vs. Notre Dame for the national title. 1965 was an experimental year for the AP to choose post-bowl. 1966 and 1967 it went back to pre-bowl. Regardless, this game should have decided the consensus title.

1975 Oklahoma vs. Alabama
Both finished (11-1). Alabama lost their first game to Missouri, a team OU beat. Oklahoma lost late in the year to Kansas. Oklahoma managed to jump Alabama in the remaining weeks en route to a consensus title. Alabama finished #3 behind Arizona State.

1983 Miami vs. Auburn for the national title. Miami needed a failed 2PC by Nebraska to propel to the consensus #1 spot. Miami and Auburn both finished (11-1). Miami was blown out by Florida, 28-3. Auburn, like Miami, lost early to Texas. Texas was in NC contention until the bowl loss to Georgia. Auburn defeated both Florida and Georgia.

1991 Washington vs. Miami for the consensus national title.

1994 Penn State vs. Nebraska. Nebraska won the consensus title but Penn State has a case as they finished undefeated and many believe they were better than the Huskers.

1996 Florida vs. Ohio State for the consensus national title. Both lost late in the season, in fact, one week apart. Gators won outright probably because of the dominating win over FSU. Both lost to their main rival by less than five points.

1997 Nebraska vs. Michigan for the consensus national title. Many believe Nebraska won their share as a gift for a retiring Osborne.

2002 Ohio State vs. Iowa for the B1G championship. There was no CCG then and both were crowned as co-champions at (8-0). Iowa lost one game OOC to rival Iowa State which was ranked as high as #9 before faltering later. Had this matchup happened and Iowa won, the debate to play Miami for the national title would have been between Iowa and Georgia. USC was playing the best ball late but two losses to Washington State and Kansas State eliminated them.

2003 USC vs. LSU for the BCS title

2007 USC vs. Georgia - Rose Bowl

2007 Missouri vs. West Virginia

2008 Texas vs. Florida for the BCS title

2011 LSU vs. Okla State for BCS title

What other games are there?

Many of who? Michigan fans? 1997 Nebraska would have totally destroyed that Michigan team.

2004 USC vs Auburn for the BCS NC OU got blown out by USC. AU and USC had a common opponent, VT. VT finished 10-3, losing 13-24 to USC, by one point to NC State, and 13-16 to Auburn in a bowl game that was never really in doubt, with both Tech scores coming late in the 4th, the last one on the final drive. Both the losses to AU and USC were on neutral sites.

Auburn deserved a piece of Nebraska more than Miami did.

As a long time LSU fan, not so sure who would have won.

Oklahoma State had a strong offense and one of their best defenses.

LSU’s offense in that national title game left an awful lot to be desired, especially that particular day.

A good chance it would have been a closely contested game

It's 2003 USC-LSU by a mile. The 1983 Miami-Nebraska game was an all-time classic. I would love to have seen a rematch between Notre Dame and FSU in 1993.

Nebraska was alone at the top by 97. Michigan would’ve been beaten just as badly as tenner was.

no chance.

LSU and Alabama were a tier above everyone else that season. Either of them would maul any other team they played, just as they both did Arkansas, and as LSU did Oregon and West Virginia.
