On top of the fact that I don't think he even knows what he wants them to be anymore. Enos is a really good OC, but when he brought him in and started throwing more they completely lost their identity. Within 3 years they couldn't run the football at all and were basically a pass first 1 back team.

Exactly, some posters don't seem to understand how much they have changed on offense because of Enos. There are much bigger problems than his scheme. That is the easy and lazy response.

I agree: Bert is not only losing like Butch, but he's eating all the food! There's nothing worse than losing on gameday for the fanbase, than losing and then going hungry because all the gameday food was et......

I think he got away from his style and his program, and once he lost it he couldn't get it back.

He should be able to field solid defenses and power run/play action teams that own TOP. That was what Arkansas was when they started playing better in 2014 and then in 2015. They were going to punch you in the mouth, control the clock and make you play their game. And that was not comfortable for most teams.

I truly think that concept and program mentality could have worked (to an extent). Thats one of those things that has to be inherently part of your program. It has to be developed and maintained and passed down. Examples like Michigan State, Wisconsin, Stanford. That's just who they are, every year. Bert had that for a short period, but they lost it and they just kind of seem to be wandering without an identity. And you can't be a bottom 1/3 recruiting program in this league and just kinda do what everyone else does.

Tenn had Manning, and Neyland.

So they will always be elite. Just like Princeton.

He really isn't being out-recruited

He’s finishing around 10th in the conference in recruiting rankings. You guys are finishing in the bottom 3 recruiting in the West and coincidentally that’s where y’all usually finish in the standings.

A better coach would obviously have a better record but it’s not like you guys would be competing for 1st place in the West with a different coach and the exact same players.

I think the better point is that Bielema may not have been capable of implementing the scheme/identity he originally sold to Fayetteville. It seems more and more that Bielema only had custodial not ownership over Wiscy's smashmouth culture. With Barry Alvarez retired to AD /still around, Wisconsin never skipped a beat after hiring Gary Anderson then Paul Chryst

Bielema meanwhile seems to have benefitted not only from inherited culture but excellent coordintaors

OC: Paul Chryst Coordinator for 6/7 seasons (All successful seasons)

DC: Dave Dorean + Dave Aranda

Correct. This wouldnt be as big a deal if he ran the spread to help out his players. With the offense they have, they need more talent to make it work.

I'm not sure if I necessarily agree that his style of offense is the problem. I mean we scored more points than anyone except for Ole Miss in 2015 and led the SEC in passing plus had a 1,300 yard rusher last year. Offense hasn't been the problem for the most part the last few years. Historically bad defense (except for 2014) and special teams have been.

Regardless of the offense we run now though, it would all suck with this OL.

How does the OP weigh that Butch lost at home to Bert, after being spotted a 2 TD lead?

That should count for something cringeworthy.

Love how people love to shoot from the hip with these types of comments. It wasn’t a month or two ago, on this very board, that showed Arkansas with virtually the same number of four star recruits as Florida, A&M and several others; as a matter of fact, it was only Alabama and UGA with a commanding lead/ distance over the pack of schools I just mentioned above.

So, your comments are complete bull crap

You can win at Arkie. With Bobby, Arkie was very good and fun to watch. With Nutt and Malzahn, Arkie was good. Bret was not a fit at Arkie. Bret, Butch and Gus. Gus comes out on top and that should tell you all you need to know.

In this era of Football, I think the only place you can win like this is Bama.
