Are you drunk? Arkansas and LSU have played 67 times ?!
37 meetings BEFORE we joined the SEC in ‘92. In fact, there were several meetings that we were allowed to count toward our SWC standings.

Here’s the funny part. If you couldn’t beat Arkansas from 2012 - 2019 ( Smiley- Morris) , then god bless you; you just can’t beat ‘em. I’m glad you enjoyed the run.

If if’s were fifths we’d all be drunk. This comment stuck with me from Cecil “ the diesel “ Collins.

We have time. So, I’m sure we can get something together. I’m solid as well in the betting department. Look forward to the build up here.

Put your money where your month is then. Let’s play high stakes too. When you start SEC competition, I’m your huckleberry. Can’t wait. Fresh meat.

Here’s what OU and Texas are about to come to terms with when they begin SEC competition in the next few seasons. Both programs are going to be faced with the equivalent of 6 Red River Rivalries every season. Let that sink in for a minute. Virtually every Saturday in the SEC is a bowl game. It’s the whose who of college football. My advice? Prepare for how humbling it will be. There are no Saturdays off. Had you pulled your little stunt against Kansas in the SEC, that’s a sure loss. Buckle up brother, you’re in for one hell of a ride.
Billy Napier? The one that is currently head coaching La-,Lafayette?
If they’re throwing that out , they have migrated from delusional to insane! He’s not ditching his team mid season. Yeah, he may talk after Thanksgiving, but no way he’s leaving in the middle of a season!
Wow. There’s a big gas fire burning in the bayou.

Seriously? How many games has Bo Nix played in and started versus KJ in his college career? Plus Bo got the luxury of playing at HOME.
That’s one of the weakest comparisons I’ve ever seen posted. KJ is a first season starter and was on the road in Athens, and you’re really going to compare that to a seasoned starter at home? That’s bullshite if I’ve ever seen it. God bless you.

No doubt. I’ve always maintained they are the SMU of the SEC. They are the gold standard in the conference when it comes to “benefits “. Just because the NCAA didn’t pursue the Newton scandal to the bitter end , doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. The Terry Bowden years says a lot.
Auburn fans, if you’re remotely wise, do yourselves a favor and stay quiet about other programs. You have tons of warts and bodies buried. I wouldn’t be standing in judgement of anyone if I were you.

Looks like Cam was 6-6 and 245 in college. So, similar weight; just a height difference.
At least making it to Atlanta gives you a shot. We’ve been there three times so far, that’s more than at least six current members have been, so there’s that.
We will be back, I just don’t know when. Hopefully, I stick around long enough to see it again. Loving the ride. ??
Wrong. Frank Broyles was the catalyst for the expansion. At the time the SWC was in serious decline, due in large part to numerous members having probation issues, etc.
Broyles and longtime friend Doug Dickey of Tennessee ( a former Broyles assistant) were instrumental in driving the move. Also, at the time, Broyles felt Texas may have interest in the move, as he was very close friends with Daryl Royal, the former head coach there. When that fell through, the next choice was Florida State. They weren’t too keen, and it’s doubtful UF was thrilled either, so it was settled on South Carolina as the other.
You have to remember, at the time, Arkansas was the most stable and healthy of the Big 3 in the SWC at the time, and had not seen probation issues and bad press. In fact, it was coming off back to back conference titles recently and was doing its best to keep the leagues reputation together. The 1980’s was damaging to the conference, and Broyles had enough.
See above , we’ve had 4 shots to your 3 in the past 10 seasons?! How’s this difficult for you?
You’re right, my bad. I would have to go back 10 years for us to have more CWS appearances ‘12, ‘15, ‘18, ‘19 vs. ‘13, ‘15, and ‘17. Should have done my homework. Thanks.
So, when you’re baseball program was racking up baseball titles in the 90’s , how was your football program? Yeah, I remember Curly Hallman and Gerry Dinardo. Y’all weren’t even on the radar screen then. It all goes in cycles. Coaching is everything. Saban came in and resurrected your football program starting in 2000.
Btw, we made a football expansion title appearnce before you did in ‘95. Saban got your first in 2001.
Just like I mentioned “ in the moment “ regarding baseball, we aren’t relevant in football. But, that hasn’t always been the case. We have work to do in football, just like y’all do in baseball.
We’ve had more title shots than LSU in past 6-8 seasons. If you’re not one of the 8 teams to make it to Omaha, you don’t get the shot. So, yes, recently, we’ve had more opportunities.
Everybody has history and tradition in the big 3 sports ; especially the power 5 schools. I’m speaking of “ in this moment in time”.
Yes, you can rebuild your baseball program, just like Arkansas can rebuild its football program. That said, it’s not easy, and takes time.
I just looked, DVH has 1289 wins in season 31. At that travel rate in season 39 that would be 1618 total wins. So, he would eclipse Maneiri in win total.
Yes, right now, it would be a step down. This is 2021 not 1991.
Well, Manieri has coached 9 more years than Van Horn first of all. So, trying to compare their win totals is bullshite first of all.
Second, no he wouldn’t make at most a lateral move, if not a step down at this point.
See, when Skip was dominant in the 90’s , not everyone was making a huge investment in college baseball. Once it was discovered it could turn a profit, everyone made that commitment. That alone has been the major change in the past 15 plus years. It suddenly became much more crowded. It’s no longer easy. Where is Wichita State, Oklahoma State, Cal State Fullerton etc. from the old days?
The funny part I just heard watching the Ole Miss/ Vandy game when discussing Manieris’ retirement was that they were discussing him following Bertman; he didn’t. Smoke Lavell did. Wonder why they don’t address that ?
