OP was indeed confusing. I’m more interested in LSU fans acting as if they dodged a bullet. Odom is one of the best in the country and I think the highlight of the new Arkansas staff. Mizzou fans will miss the effect he had on that side of the ball.

Ryan Walters designed and called last year’s defense. In fact, the defense only started to improve when Odom relinquished control.

Odom is a good DC though for sure

Nope, when OP uses the phrase "stay at Arkansas" I took it to mean he was on the team last year.

I see they got the old Mizzou head coach though. Cool. #16 scoring defense is nothing to snuff at.

You’re really gonna hate the guy we ended up with, so you may want to save the stupid dancing for a more deserving celebration.

Yeah that guy has mental problems! Hates all things Louisiana but still has the word Cajun in his name! I believe he is truly mentally handicapped

Odom couldn't beat out Walters for a St. Louis recruit! That is how bad Odom is at recruiting! Look at his recruiting classes at Missouri! 30s to 40s! That is bad! Right now Drinkwitz is doing a lot better and should end up in the 20s.

Pelini was always the first choice and I am happy with it.

Some guy makes a vague reference to LSU and the OP runs with it.

Never heard Odoms name mentioned.

Mizzou has never, and will never, finish in the 20’s. The only reason he is where he is is because of quantity. His average recruiting rank is behind pretty much everyone he’s in front of right now besides Vandy.

Mizzou will drop to 13th/14th just like every year once signing day comes.

Mizzou got rid of the problem! That was Odom! He suck in recruiting! Mizzou got a much better HC and recruiter! You just sit back and watch Mizzou beat your team once again next football game! There is a reason Mizzou fired Odom! You got a good DC but Mizzou got a huge upgrade at the HC position and a much better recruiter! Why you think Mizzou will not finish in the 20s? Explain to me Mizzou is done getting any more 4* players? You sure about that? How you know all this? Odom was the problem and he is now Arkansas problem!

I’m just trying to figure out what sec program will give chavis a job
Or does he end up on saban’s shadow staff

I could see him doing some consulting work. I think he's too old and too set in his ways to be an effective DC today. Plus, at his age, would he really want the day to day stress of being a coach? He's got more money than some third world countries after all.

Wow! Your HC is also near that level! So you're saying your HC can do it but Chavis can't do it because of age?

We no longer have Odom! He is Arkansas problem now! Also Mizzou did a great job so far that Odom couldn't do it at Mizzou!

Some coaches prefer to not have to deal with the pressures of coaching for a championship caliber program.

Odom clearly falls into that category.

Yes. That is why the AD saw it that way and he was just not good overall as a HC. Recruiting was bad and he told the press that he knows nothing about offense and let the OC take care of the offense. That is not the way any HC would do. HC is suppose to look over everything and make sure everything will work against SEC teams.

How does a good DC not know anything about offense? I would assume that a good DC understands at least something about offenses so he can game plan and make in game adjustments. I would assume that a good OC understands defense also for the same reason.

Why is a St. Louis recruit staying in-state and going to Mizzou so surprising? If Odom got a player from Arkansas to go to Arkansas over Missouri I wouldn’t act like it’s some huge feat lol

Barry Odom couldn't do that! He failed because he was part of the problem. His recruiting classes at Missouri was in the 30s and 40s. That is bad. Now Drinkwitz comes in and opened up some high schools that shut the door on mizzou. Drinkwitz is doing things that is working now! Odom was part of the problem and Mizzou fans are now seeing it.

I bet he will enjoy the talent at Arkansas then and help them win more than 2 games. Drink hasnt coached a game yet, slow the eff down on this guy being a force in the SEC.
