Odom did less with more at the beginning and then couldn’t or wouldn’t recruit.

If Drink can ever figure out a QB - we will be in good shape. But let’s get real, that’s almost any program. We just need to find ours.

He probably would’ve had another year as coach to right the ship if he hadn’t asked the AD to fire him.

Our AD obliged.

Mizzou and Arkansas have pretty similar floors

We both struggle with our urban centers not producing as much talent as they should. Arky has historically pulled well from Texas but idk if that will continue.

It feels from the outside that our administration is more willing to invest in football. But that could just be perception. I certainly wouldn't bet anything on it.

The big downside for us is that our high school programs are not well funded or well run. So they don't produce a lot of talent. When we do get good in-state classes in recent memory, we've won the West or gone to a BCS bowl. I have no idea as to the quality of Missouri high school football.

But our biggest advantage is that your mascot is weird and is third of three tigers in the conference.

Your goldenboy HC hire has a worse record than someone figuring out HC as they go along. All of this while Potter coaches in the East and Pittman faces the West.

I'd say that's a pretty funny brag to have.

Glad he did a good job there. He sorta sucked at Arkansas. Glad he's the state of Nevada's problem now.

Obviously a troll but I’ll bite. Odom inherited a pretty decent roster from Pinkel including an all SEC QB in Drew Lock who he got for his entire tenure as HC. Odom couldn’t recruit so Drink didn’t have a ton of talent. Odom recruited some under the radar guys who turned out to be great that Drink benefitted from (Nick Bolton, Darius Robinson, Tyler Badie) but across the board Odom inherited a better roster. And on top of that, Drink’s first season was the all-SEC Covid season so you can’t compare that record with one that includes 3 cupcake OOC games

You could literally swap "Arkansas" with "Mizzou" and it would be a pretty fitting description. Pinkel established a solid recruiting pipeline in Texas during his tenure and a lot of our best players came from there (Chase Daniel, Danario Alexander, Ziggy Hood, Kevin Rutland, Sean Weatherspoon, Jacquies Smith, Michael Sam, James Franklin, Mitch Morse, and Henry Josey are some notable ones). Probably not coincidentally, the Texas pipeline dried up around 2014-2015. I'm sure the fact that we stopped playing in that state annually was a major factor, then Pinkel's departure in 2015 effectively ended any recruiting down there.

Missouri generally produces more high school talent than Arkansas, but not as much more as it should given that Missouri has 6.2 million residents to Arkansas' 3.1 million. We deal with the same problem as Arkansas, we have to lock up what talent there is in the state, but ultimately rely on pulling kids from states like Texas to round out a roster. In the years that we are able to do that, we've had similar success to Arkansas (winning our division), but when we don't, we're about a 6-6 program.

we normally have a hand full of high 4's and 5 stars, we just could never keep them before drink.

Mizzou fans are ready to fire Drink for the same reason Odom was fired. Drink needs to really produce next year (better than 4-4 in the SEC) to save his job.

Sam Pittman has a 1 game lead with a great QB in KJ Jefferson.

Drink has had Shawn Robinson, Ball sack and Brady Cook.

This isn’t the burn you thought it’d be lol.

You'll need to reform that post into a coherent thought. My post was about Odom and Drink and nothing to do with titboss. Did you mean to reply to someone else?

How about their record head to head? Arkansas has more talent too.

Odom, while a True Son, had sadly lost the faith of the fans/university. I wasn't necessarily happy to see him booted because I feel like he didn't have enough time to build. But that isn't a problem unique to MU.

Drink winning our (pretty unappealing) bowl game would go a long way in comforting me we made the right decision... For those who are keeping track we haven't won one in nearly 8 years now.

And to the homeboy that thought I was replying to him I was replying to the OP and hit reply on his post thinking he’d realize that wasn’t directed at him.

Don't forget that head to head Drink holds the Advantage 2-1.

(and 7 of the last 9 go to MU, had to throw that in)
