But even conceding Fisher > Joeckel, that has nothing to do with Barrett Jones, who's inferior to both.

So it's debatable that a player drafted ahead of a A&M player is better, but any player drafted ahead of a Bama player is better solely based on draft order. Seems legit

He won the damn Outland and Rimmington.
And Manti Te'o nearly won the Heisman. He was a long way from being the second best player in college.

Are you saying that the media liked a guy who could give them a decent soundbyte and interview? A guy who gave them good quotes for stories? I am shocked at this thinking.

I don't think he was awarded the outland for giving a sound bite. He was overrated as a player on the field. period.

I like the kid as a person and I think hell be a long time starter in the NFL, i wish the cowboys had got him. but he wasnt the best lineman in the country.

He got heisman votes for gods sakes.

I watched most of the Bama games this year and he is just not a dominating player. he is a solid smart blocker that is a winning player.

Frankly he got dominated in the A&M game.

So, being #19 of all offensive linemen in all of college football is bad? He has a chance to make an NFL team. He is smart and helps those around him and even those far from him. I'm happy for the kid.

Your life must suck.

He shouldn't be weight-bearing if he really had a Lisfranc dislocation..

Poor comprehension.

It's debatable that one player is better than the other--who was the presumed best for months.

The differences between them really are negligible.

In no way can you use that to lift up an argument that Jones is better than the eighteen OL who preceded him the in draft, much less any of the nine who went in the first round.

Now kill yourself.

So my life sucks because I think a CFB player was overrated?

Straw man argument.

I in no way said that a 4th round pick is bad. Tell me where I said that? I even said that I am a fan and I think hell be a good player.

Obviously being drafted in the NFL is an incredible accomplishment.

I simply said that he was overrated by the media.

I agree with all these things, but I think that he elevated himself to the conversation with his media ubiquity. Hence the overrated discussion.

considering that was not my argument at all. My argument was that using your Joeckel/Fisher rational, you can't definitely say that there were 19 OL more impressive than BJ because BJ could be better than 1 or more of them just as Joeckel could be better than Fisher.

Their whole offensive line was overrated. A&M's was clearly better.

Thats probably true. Teo was more overrated than Jones.

Teo was one of the most decorated players ever.

Seems we've had this conversation about JFF and Tim Tebow, too. What makes a good college player doesn't necessarily translate into the NFL. Barrett Jones was smart, hard working, and had impeccable character. The media loves that shite.

Find me a link where Barret Jones was projected to go in the first round . .

Lol at LSU fans calling Teo overrated because he was a heisman finalist that was drafted in the second round.

.......................................I still don't see any reason why he can't be criticized.

He might well have been better than one or two--hell, maybe three or four.

Now what about the other 14? Note, you're still not in the first round yet.

Considering TM7 had similar coverage and was a heisman finalist . . and was picked how many spots down from Dee Milliner?
