You're not our rival; you're just next.

ah the rivalry debate again...every ones definition is different. Is it importance/tradition/competiveness/hatred? Some say its a rivalry game some don't, me personally I say yes and I know Bama fans that do too...Its just based on their definition.

The last 3 games in Baton Rouge:

-Bama won on a last minute drive
-Bama won in OT
-Game was 0-0 until the 4th

What do you consider competitive?

Bama has yet to play a single team in the top twenty S+P. LSU is 4-1 against top twenty S+P teams this season. Anyone would look great playing your schedule thus far.

Just skipped right over that last part I see lol

Once again advanced metrics take into account who you’ve played and eliminate garbage time. The advantages that exist for Bama INCLUDE the fact that LSU has played a tougher schedule

So do the coaches and players, the ones that matter on opinion.

Color me shocked, a classy and coherent bama fan. I've always heard about them but have never seen one. I didn't think they existed.

bama will win with ease. lsu as is tradition will struggle to do anything offensively. it shouldnt take much more than 10 points to beat lsu.

bama 24-3

sure appears that LSU fans think it is. They are beyond obsessed with Bama. Reminds me of the Vols during the late 80’s and early 90’s.

And why wouldn't we be, we have lost 6 very close games over the past few years, Alabama has been the team to beat. Bama has been a jugernaut, if situation was reversed bama fans would do the same.

We have higher standards at Alabama, so that would be actually winning one every 3-4 years. But by all means, hang your hat on not getting blown out every year.

well that just isn't true

so if you don't win, you're not competitive? The games were very competitive in 2012, 2014, and 2016 and even 2017 honestly. This is along the line of people misusing the word "relevant" to suit whatever argument/troll they're trying to make.

There is no need to diarrhea over every thread pertaining to this game when the OP is trying to have a civil discussion.

I agree, we don't have a true rival. A lot of secondary rivals though. I think the conference is also trying to force a rivalry with aTm.

This must be the super computer that Vegas uses. Still impossible to figure out as LSU and Bama's schedules have been so different this year. I think the one common opponent is Ole Miss, in which both teams dominated. Its all speculation.

I'm not "hanging my hat" on anything, simply replying to the false premise that the games haven't been competitive.

I'll be the first to admit it sucks losing to Bama 7 times in a row. I was at all of those games in Tiger Stadium, and they were indeed heartbreaking.

But like you say, y'all have higher standards at Bama right? I would think y'all would have higher standards for what a non competitive game is.

Of course all the cheating made sure the gump yards would win in at least 4 of those games. Would be nice to have the home SEC office in baton rouge.

Ok, so according to you, LSU hasn't been competitive in 7 years now? Have you watched any of the games? You can't be serious.
