Assume favorites win and the standings hold serve.

Out of the top 4 teams there are 6 possible matchups:
1. A&M-Bama
2. A&M-UGA
3. A&M-OM
4. Bama-UGA
5. Bama-OM
6. UGA-OM

Only 2 were played the entire regular season. Teams aren’t playing each other enough. The luck of the schedule means too much. It was the same situation last year. It WILL happen sooner or later where we end with 3 undefeated teams. Then what? They really want to avoid that. The conference is too fricking big

UConn and Florida State have the same number of wins against the ACC in the last 2 seasons.

Funny how we don’t want to go by “best loss” or “eye test” anymore in Tuscaloosa

On the face this is correct. But I’m pretty sure the 9 games was part of a behind the scenes agreement so the other conferences would agree to the future playoff expansion.

Yeah, but i remember A&M losing to top ranked Bama by a lot in 2020, then going 9-1 in SEC and everyone was happy to leave us out of the playoffs because of that early loss.

F Bama N Dame and OSU.
You get whatever misery is coming your way.

Look the entire CFP committee is crazy. Certain rules work for some teams but not for others. No consistency. Of course, Bama should be higher. But at least Bama will have a chance to fix that - win your games in the playoff.

Meanwhile, us Vandy fans are fighting a harder more gut wrenching battle with the CFP committee. The better you get, the more it hurts? Is that what all this SEC angst has been about all these years listening to y’all?

There was no such finalized agreement.

Sankey needs to be investigated for the possibility of accepting a bribe.

Bama has two wins over top 7 teams and lost to a top 8 team . Bama has the best win imo UGA . They have four playoff committee wins and one bad loss .

Oregon has zero good wins and a great loss

ND has one ranked win and 2 good losses .

It doesn't matter if they are 8th or 10th. They are in if they win their games.

You can't reward teams for losing. If Bama was undefeated with their wins they would be #1. When Bama had 1 loss they were the highest ranked 1 loss team. Now that they have 2 losses they are behind a team who beat them head to head in OU and ND who the committee thinks is very good based on how they lost their 2 games early in the year.

So wins matter as long as your record is good. Bama is ahead of a 1 loss BYU, a 1 loss GT, and every other 2 loss team aside from the two I listed above. AND they literally lost last week so that absolutely should weigh in

According to the ESPN pundits on Tuesday night, Bama would have to win out their regular season and win the SEC to get in.

9-3 is a non-starter because they lost to an un-ranked team.

Our “interim” (at the time) AD said it off hand and unprompted and let it out of the bag when he was talking at his first or second press conference.

It’s something he should not have released, but it’s pretty much been agreed on by all the conferences.

This needs to be stopped immediately. The B1G is playing the committee system much better than we are. Schedule easy and avoid your best teams facing each other.

I do agree with this, but at the same time ND lost to the only (currently) two ranked teams they have played. At least Alabama has beaten some currently ranked teams. (Georgia, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Missouri) Yes, they had a recent loss, but Alabama should be ranked higher than ND.

Surely you can see the reasoning in that? Both teams have lost two games. One has not beaten a currently ranked team and the other has beaten 4 currently ranked teams, including one that is currently ranked #4.

I don't like a lot of the hand wringing and angst SOME of the Alabama fans are doing, but when compared to ND they definitely have a legit point.

So, if I understand you correctly, the schedule will be purposely set up to protect the perennial top dogs in the SEC and therefore keep the bottom half down with no way to get to say a 5 or 6 game winning season? How exactly is that representing all the members of the conference? Our purpose isn’t to get you in the CFP, it is to get there ourselves.

The committee does because how else would you explain ND being ahead of Miami?

Correct

But now you contradict yourself because the chair of the committee last night said the FSU game was being used for ranking of Alabama. First game of the season.

A loss is a loss.

Top 3 teams in the B1G are:

Ohio State
Indiana
Oregon

How many times did they play each other? You can throw Michigan in there is you want.

Oregon/Indiana played each other and Ohio State/Michigan will play each other.
