Dude can have a 15-20 year career here if he wants.
We can atleast get 3 more nattys in that time.

I’m would agree. Was hoping someone that knows gym could chime in and tell us how the class is stacking up.

I’m ok with a natty every other year. Seems fair to the rest of the sport. Sucks we won’t go back to back but I’ll deal with it.
In all honestly it sucks missing the post season. But Jay will have more time in the portal and should be able to get this right. I believe we have the best coach for LSU right now. Unless this trend continues for 2 more years and I doubt that it will I don’t see Jay going anywhere nor should he.
Dude could stay here for the next 15-20 years. I expect him to make the post season and atleast supers more often than not. I expect to be in Omaha often and I expect him to win 2-3 more in 15-20 years. That’s kind of coach he is. Fair weather fans be dammed

Baseball wouldn’t be what is today with out skip. So anything saying he wouldn’t do something in the sport today is just dumb

Also rumblings both Milam and Curiel return so that would help.
I miss brown!

Really depends on if Pearson can make strides at 3rd or 1st. He wasn’t great at either this year.
If you get 2 stud OFs you put Braun at first. If you get a 3rd baseman and of you put Pearson at 1st and braun in of. If you get a stud 1st baseman you put Pearson at 3rd and Braun in the Of
Maybe Hardin takes a step and that helps the team in Of.
All of this depends what Jay is able to pull from the portal who stays. Who goes and who we get to campus from Hs and what if they can make an impact.
Realistically
Starters:
Ruckert
Braun
Serna
Cade
Patrick
50/50
Pearson
Maybe:
Harden
So you’re looking for 1-2 starting Of
1 SS if Milam doesn’t come back.
And a 1B and 3B depending what you get in Of and what’s available.

Braun can play 1B or RF. Depends on what’s best for the line up.
Pearson can play 1B 3B or DH but it will really depend on where he is needed.
Serna can play 1B but it’s likely him and Cade rotating at DH and C. So Pearson is 1B if Braun is needed in the OF but if Braun is in the infield he will be 1B and Pearson will stick at 3rd.
Unless Pearson goes to the portal which I don’t think happens

Overall looks pretty good.
Need to keep the core group and major pieces.
Getting a stud starting pitcher and a few relievers is the key.
Gone:
Cowan-Senior
Stanfield-Senior
Brown-Draft
Curiel-Draft
Reaves-Senior
Simpson-Senior
Dardar-Senior
Caraway-Draft or Portal
Dathe-Senior
Yorke-Senior
Fontenot-Senior
Benge-Senior
Likely Gone:
Sheerin: draft but maybe we could get back since he has 2 years
Miliam: projectability vs NIL
Not Sure:
Guidry: draft or back
Noot: draft or back
Rizy: Portal or back
Williams: portal or back
Harden: portal or back
Clauss: portal or back
Yamin: portal or back
Garcia: draft or back
Plog: portal or back
Aase: who?
Primeaux: no clue
Back:
Serna
Ruckert
Patrick
Braun
Pearson: 75/25
Arrambide: 75/25
Theophilus
Paz
Evans
Schmidt
Moore
Ricken:50/50
Honestly it still lines up well for us. Good group of youth. Just need pieces and guys to take the next step

Imagine if they spent that basketball money in baseball like they should have.
All or nothing

We are going to send out our best arms now. So we will have to win today.

Just not doing well. Not as effective as last year. Not sharp and lost command

Any update on Serna?
What’s the realistic chance of beating Georgia this weekend for one game or the series
Posted by Tigernomics on 5/4/26 at 8:01 am
Doesn’t seem likely.
Will need elite performances. The one thing to note is Georgia has a match box field. Hoping we can hit some dingers with the power we have.
Will need pitching and defense to be great.

SC is one of the worst teams in the league. We will need see what happens next week in the band box of a ball park.
