You can’t say that Deboer is a shitty defensive coach, he owes all of his success to one quarterback, and that he is overpaid and then turn around and claim you have 100% supported him from the start.

Shaft has taken every opportunity he can to undercut anything associated with Alabama football. Last year he was saying what a shitty coach Nick Saban really was, but we were just too stupid to see it. This thread is just the latest example of him pretending to be an Alabama fan trying to get people to pile on Alabama.

When things are going good for Alabama Shaft disappears for weeks. When he smells a little blood in the water he shows back up and starts circling the boat. Like William Taylor. They are very similar in that regard.

And I am sure Shaft is a black man. He would never lie about that would he?

To be fair, when has he fielded a good defense at the Division I level?

I found out today that DeBoer's one team at Fresno State gave up 27 points a game. And, his two teams at Washington gave 38 and 39 points a game respectively.

You know what else I said about DeBoer? I said that Washington may have come out of him leaving there smelling like a rose by hiring Jedd Fisch. I'm a big fan of Fisch.

Like most right thinking people who had to play against him every fricking year, I was more than ready for the Saban era to be over.

But this is just obscene and a disgrace to the program.

After hearing Diego Pavia talk about the trash the Bama players were talking in the pre-game and how it was so bad he refused to shake their hands before the game, I think we have a serious culture problem.

I didn't want to say this after our game last week, because it would have come off as sour grapes....and it still might.

I noticed Alabama players seemed to be talking a ton of trash in our game with them. A whole lot more than usual. I might have seen it once or twice before and chalked it up to a part of the game....never thought much about it. But it seemed like the trash talk was happening after almost every play.

That said...who knows? Maybe Georgia players were talking trash, too. It just caught me off guard to see so much coming from Alabama.

I tend to think that Deboer is cleaning up the mess that Saban left. The program may improve after this year when Milroe and a few others are gone. Deboer can then install the full offense and get a better handle on the culture.....As for the defense, thats more of a coaching situation but we do also need to improve the talent on the DL.

Thanks Shaft. I was having a few doubts about Deboer after this loss. But since I read your post slamming him, I feel a lot better about him. Thanks for the reaffirmation

Meh we will see. He might need to adapt a bit and not let the players run things. He’s won everywhere.

Pretty simple and old school. There’s no I in team.

Saban ran things that way, Highly successful coaches do. Talent and grandstanding will win a few a few games…but will not build a consistent performance machine.

Petrino is the same way…like his past or not. The partial turnaround in Fayetteville is largely due to bringing that attitude back…at least partially.
