The fact that y'all are having fun with this validates the fact that SIX is ridiculous. Not sure te league should have changed it though.

Why wouldn't you be sure about that? Football is a sport. A sport is supposed to be sporting and honest and fair. When coaches of opposing teams decide it will be a good idea to collude with one another and single out a specific team to take advantage of, that's not fair.
If they can't take it upon themselves to play a game fairly, their parents need to reprimand them and tell them they aren't allowed to do that.

Alabama plays 8 conference games, so 3 out of the 8.
Given everybody plays 8 conference games and there are 14 byes, everyone should on average have 1.75 bye opponents, so Alabama getting 3 is kinda bogus. They could have made it so everyone got 1 or 2.

We technically only play two teams with bye weeks before us next year as LSU and Alabama both have byes before they play each other. Even so... 3 =/= 6.

Yeah...and I think there have been a few seasons where we've played 3 teams with open weeks...the only time I recall Saban "bitchin'" was in '10 when we faced 6 SEC teams coming off of byes...

Meh, Bye weeks are overrated. They may help a team heal up physically but they can also take a hot team out of its rhythm.
I can only assume this is what the SEC had it mind since they would never consider giving Bama an unfavorable schedule.
