I guess it depends on where you live in Mississippi, because I live here too and there is plenty of things to get in to.

I feel more confident about a win Saturday than against OM.

Gotta keep college football's bread winner in the CFP.

Not gonna lie, I would totally take it if they gave it to us

The fact that this is still a narrative despite our very public struggles with the refs this year boggles the mind.

People are gonna see what they want to see. The facts be damned.

To answer the OP's question, not as in years past and it's simple. Bama isn't as good Bama normally is. LSU and Ole Miss have come along nicely this year and done a great job. Both coaches. It will come down the turnovers and penalties and we suck at both but the bottom line is Bama isn't Bama this year so... confident but not a slam dunk as most years.

Just proves that the Bama ref thing is a total delusion that has infected many peoples' brains.

So they didn't want us to beat Tennessee?

I'm wondering where the confidence in LSU beating 'Bama is coming from among their fans. I don't get it. Even a Nick Saban Tide team that isn't playing their best will still take a monumental effort for them to beat on Saturday unless the mistakes and penalties pile up like they did vs Tennessee and A&M.

The Ole Miss defense looks to be just as soft as last season when 'Bama could run for like 8 YPC every down if they wanted, and their QB isn't some sort of prolific passer. Hurling it deep to Mingo (?) will probably be a safe bet, but I wouldn't count on that enough to predict an OM victory.

I wouldn't switch teams with either of them.

Who knows which Alabama team shows up for games lately. People can say it's not the NIL making players lazy or whatever, and that's certainly what people claimed before the NIL got here.

But it looks very obvious to me it's having an effect. Sure some players handle the money well, it appears Bryce Young for example is handling it well. But it's very clear NIL is having an effect overall - but not in recruiting as everyone claimed.

I think the same shite is going on with A&M. When you already have the milk, you don't work to get the cow anymore. Why sit in your dorm on a Thursday night studying playbooks and films when you can be making it rain down at the local bars hooking up with cheap sluts? I mean, one of those definitely sounds like more fun than the other.

You can't give the horse the carrot and then wonder why the frick he stopped.

You don't think NIL has had an affect on Miami, Texas A&M, Louisville and Tennessee classes?

It is not an indictment or a negative to those schools but just saying that I think it helped kick them into high gear, at least. NIL is legal and if they want to juice up recruiting quickly that way, that's ok. I just think it has definitely affected recruiting. Maybe not everywhere, but certainly in pockets.

Maybe I misunderstand what you are saying?

Honestly depends on if Bama can cure their penalty problems. If penalties go away they will handedly win both games. If they keep getting the number of penalties they have been getting they will lose one of the two games. No way they lose both.

The NIL has effects outside recruiting. I'm talking about the effects on the players themselves when they are getting paid good money. It makes them more likely to be lazy, more likely to not work as hard, etc.

How it's going to affect different teams is really up for grabs because it comes down to how well each individual player handles it, and also how much is given to those players.

And I'm willing to bet that the more money involved in the NIL recruits and the more recruits with NIL, the higher the chances of it affecting things.

In short, Jamarcus Russell before he got paid vs after he got paid.

I think we can win both. I’m not confident at all, though. I expect us to have same issues that we’ve had, and I just hope that we make some plays and Bryce is spectacular.

What are the odds for each?

Like 75% to win versus LSU and 85% against Ole Miss?

Confident but not overly so. We play like shite and commit penalties nonstop on the road every game going back to last year's iron bowl.

Put the odds of Alabama winning both games around 75%. I think losing to LSU is more likely than Ole Miss. Dart sucks.

You've gotta be extra retarded to still be spouting this narrative after what's happened on the field the last few years. shite, even most LSU fans have backed off of it
