Or has the game passed him by in your opinion?

Obviously we are not elite this year, but Saban has earned the right to keep trying until he retires.

IMO, I think he will turn things around. He was already making large changes to fix what started the defensive issues after 2016

My gut says he has one more run in him. But really, who knows?

Who else would you trust more than him? You have to give him time to right the ship. Get the right person in at DC who can adjust our scoring defense even five average points in our direction and we are probably undefeated this year. Needs to clean house on the defensive side of the ball.

The question is can LSU do more than be a one hit wonder? Saban has proven what he can do there's no need to question him

It depends on what he does with Pete Golding.

Always disliked him as Bama’s head coach but there are few people who transform and adapt better than him.

Saban wants that last NC, but does he want it bad enough?

We’re on our 4th NC run in 16 years. LSU is not a one hit wonder. Far from it.

One of which is attributable to Saban, one you backed into with 2-losses, one you got your arse kicked.

Beat UGA, Clemson and Ohio State first before you start chest beating boudreaux

Saban has built programs by excellent recruiting, hiring excellent assistants, demanding the best facilities for his players, and having an armada of support staff.

He'll still do those things, but other coaches and programs have figured those things out also.

Will he win another championship? I think so.

Will he win two or three more? Probably not.

There is also a decent chance he blows an aneurysm or something.

Highly unlikely. He’s almost 70. That’s around the age Bowden was on the downside of his career.

2, 3, and possibly 4 loss seasons will be the norm until Alabama hires a new, younger, proven coach.

He adapts as well as anybody, I think he has one more run in him.

IMO if the injury bug hadn't bit the defense we would have been hard to beat this year, but that's the way the ball bounces.

I will be pulling for whoever reps the SEC in the playoffs. Good luck

If we're talking about actual football, and not just trolling...

I think his stubborn adherence to certain defensive schemes are the issue. It's why Gus has his number but other defensive coordinators have been able to shut him down.

If we get a young DC who is given a lot more freedom to build the defense, with the young talent we have, then Alabama could easily be a force to reckon with. Jones to Waddle vs a good AU defense shows that there's weapons still on offense.

The game past saban by in 2010 after a 3 loss season.
2013 after the kick six and sugar bowl loss.
2014 after the loss to ole miss.
2015 after the loss to ole miss.
2016 after the loss to clemson in the championship game.
2017 after the loss to auburn.
2018 after the loss to Clemson in the championship game.
And now, 2019 after the first 2 loss season since when? That's right, 2010.

The game will pass him by when he's in the frickin' grave.

He’s been written off many times. Auburn thought they had run him off with Camback and Kick Six. People literally used your terminology that the game had passed him by. He proceeded to reinvent his defense, shocked the world by hiring Lane Kiffin, and adapted the spread offense he hated and recruited Tua Tagovailoa. He won two more NCs after Kick Six. He’s a competitor and hates losing to his bones. He doesn’t want go out on a decline. Underestimate him again at your peril.

Everyone is ready to put dirt on Saban's grave. He played with very young players this year, i think 5 of his defensive starters were freshman, 4 due to season ending injuries.

They were as undisciplined a team as I have seen under Saban since his first year or two at LSU, but don't hold your breath that Saban is down for the count.

As for the Tigers, we will lose a LOT of talent next year. 14 seniors are leaving, plus godknows how many juniors who will enter the draft. Next year won't be as easy for LSU, not by a long shot. I hope we capitalize on what we have this year and go the distance. Next year will be entertaining, no doubt, but I want a natty this year. Geaux Tigers!
