re: Who wins: 2009 Alabama vs 2019 LSU

Bama's 2009 defense was much, much, much better than 2019's defense. But LSU's offense would pull it out IMO.

I'm all LSU and I'm so happy for y'all. Media Days is gonna be LIT this year!!!
re: Are Clemson fans generally kind of slow?

Have you seen some of the posts on this board??
Clemson is actually a very good school, but as with all universities (including ours), you get folks from all walks of life.

Mac wasn't a starter, he was a backup.
re: Where to find a burrow jersey??
Posted by Pole142 on 1/6/20 at 1:45 pm
Anywhere they sell sorts or LSU gear (Dicks, Academy, etc). You can probably get it from Fanatics.com as well. But you won't get one with Burrow on the back, per NCAA rules, just the #9.

Joe is 6'4".
re: Are LSU fans worried at all about playing Clemson?
Posted by Pole142 on 12/4/19 at 9:54 am
Clemson is an unknown, which is really the only thing that concerns me--but the fact that they have coasted through this year is not good for them. There has been very little adversity, and even without it they haven't lit up the score board a lot.
That having been said, Dabo is riding this "national disrespect" thing hard, so i expect that they will come out swinging.

re: Analytics strongly indicate that LSU will not win the NC this year

Are we calling stats "analytics" now?
It's history. I don't give a damn what any other team did. and frankly, it doesn't matter what LSU or GA did, it matters what they are going to do next Saturday.
That is all. Geaux Tigers.

omg she has such a tiny little voice at the end!! :rotflmao:
re: Bama fans - will Saban return you to greatness?
Posted by Pole142 on 12/1/19 at 12:24 pm
Everyone is ready to put dirt on Saban's grave. He played with very young players this year, i think 5 of his defensive starters were freshman, 4 due to season ending injuries.
They were as undisciplined a team as I have seen under Saban since his first year or two at LSU, but don't hold your breath that Saban is down for the count.
As for the Tigers, we will lose a LOT of talent next year. 14 seniors are leaving, plus godknows how many juniors who will enter the draft. Next year won't be as easy for LSU, not by a long shot. I hope we capitalize on what we have this year and go the distance. Next year will be entertaining, no doubt, but I want a natty this year. Geaux Tigers!

re: Woodward is a genius

Woodward did what he was told by the boosters and the Circle-- he hired Jimbo. I'd have left that dumpster fire too, if i were him.
re: Rewatched the (first half of the) LSU/Ole Miss game this morning... my thoughts.
Posted by Pole142 on 11/19/19 at 12:20 pm
This is on the level of holy fricking dumb, given what happened in the second half.

it's a polarizing topic amongst Bama fans, but when you have THIS many high profile players at key positions going down year after year, you can't just chalk it up 100% to bad luck. There is a common denominator somewhere and it's not random chance.

this is always a possibility, but in this instance I don't think so. Most of your guys were hurt early on-- how many were down before the first game? I don't remember, but I remember thinking it was a big number... I think after a physical game like LSU/Ala each team is physically exhausted during the following game and rack up more injuries due to exhaustion and poor form. It's been happening for years. Its just wild how many serious injuries Bama suffered, both before the season and during Miss State.
Tua's injury was just a freak thing. Wish him the best.

re: Is Kirby Smart gonna get fired?

If Mark Richt stayed for a gazillion years Kirby isn't going anywhere.
re: Nick Saban must have A) expected to lose a game or B) knows one loss wont keep them out
Posted by Pole142 on 11/12/19 at 1:28 pm
I didn't see him blame Tua other than for the interception at the end of the half. He called him a warrior, and he was. Saban also said that LSU's offense had "no weaknesses," which was telling, bc he has not had the defense that he's had in years past (in large part due to injuries early on). I think he wasn't blowing up on the sideline and at the presser b/c he expected to lose. He was as glowing about Burrow as I've ever heard him be about a player from another team.
re: Thoughts about defense and Tua?
Posted by Pole142 on 11/6/19 at 12:23 pm
LSU's defense gets a bad rap. They outrank Bama, Aubarn and FLA.
re: Losing Divinity is not a big deal as losing white was last year
Posted by Pole142 on 11/4/19 at 1:34 pm
True Dat. Divinity is very good, but no one could replace White. Next man up, Bama isn't going to wait on us just like we aren't going to wait on Tua.
