Well neither Auburn or Alabama are going to do anything memorable in March so I'll take that SEC title and laugh at the team with 15 losses and under .500 in conference play.

No, they played their asses off last night. There's always a little luck involved in games, but calling last night a lucky win is extremely ignorant. Did you even watch the game?

Do people really think bama gets in if they lose today or are there just a bunch of rustled bama fans in this thread?

1-6 in their last 7, how is this even a thread? I know you pussies are used to special treatment but at least your football team is good when they backdoor their bull shite. You guys need to gtfo with begging to be in the NCAAT at 18-15.

Where did the narrative that the SEC is good at basketball come from? I mean it does me no favors as an AU fan to say this but the league is terrible this year.

You want to give some examples of how Bama was lucky?

So you have Bama in the Final Four? I'll take it.

In seriousness, I really am rooting for Avery. Always have liked him, especially being a south LA local myself. He seems to struggle in games with coaching at times though

Get your laughs in while you can Randy. Lord knows Auburn's chances to laugh at Alabama are few and far between when you look at the product Gus & Bruce put on the field/court the last few years.

This is Auburn's year!

Yes, I did ... petty doesn’t shoot that well a vast majority of the time ... not even close ...

Personally, I think this season has been a super steep learning curve for him in dealing with a group of really young kids. Information overload, their confidence, their emotions, all that stuff. I think he was pretty lost with it for a while, which is understandable given he's never dealt with it before.

I, like most, was pretty down on things after the 5 game losing streak. The way they responded the SECT and NCAAT has been pleasantly surprising. He's still a work in progress.

Maybe you missed the fact that you didn't lose.

Beating the SEC Champs was the boost your resume needed to sneak in. Still didn't deserve it though.

Agree, beating Tennessee by 30 is probably what put us over the top.

I have no idea but i think the answer is the same as how auburn lost 4 football games last season.

He's had a challenge in front of him. I've been hot & cold with coaching this year - just glad the team chalked up a win last night. Avery can build on that experience and with more seasoned & experienced players next year, they will get better and more consistent.

Yep - I think this year can now be chalked up as living up to expectation, because March is all that matters. Next year, even with losing Sexton, he will have a team with talented experience 1-10. We should be a much more consistent team than we were this year. If we aren't, well that won't be a good sign.

Either way, happy as a pig in shite right now. Hopefully we play well tomorrow.

Last nights shooting was an aberration ... petty does not have a decent stroke and his multiple misses are really big misses each time ... Ingram actually is a somewhat decent rebounder, but offensively is not able to match what he sees on tv ... key is content to throw up threes and forego any attempt to get inside ... we were lucky last night ... it’s not indicative of what the team can do ... Virginia will win by 20 ..

This guy clearly has his finger on the pulse of Bama basketball. Petty, though he leads the sec in threes and set an Alabama record for threes in a game earlier in the year when he went 10-12 from behind the arc, doesn't have a decent stroke. Ingram struggles sometimes because of his TV viewing habits. And, even though they've beaten several teams better than VT, last night isn't indicative of what Bama can do. They were just lucky. Let's just hope they get lucky against Virginia tomorrow too.

Lort.

This was a decent thread by makersmark1 and it was flowing nicely until some meathead macho man slung open the barn door and shoveled cow manure all over it.

It's really sad that we can no longer have civil discussions on this board.

When they play with confidence and excitement, they are very good. Really prone to getting down on themselves when things don't go as expected. Immaturity.

It's so obvious in the body language - just like a teenager trying to deal with things that don't go their way.

The future looks bright and as these kids mature and gain experience, they will do well.
