People totally miss the difference between the B1G and the SEC. It comes out sometimes during the NFL draft.
A top team plays Rutgers or Northwestern when they suck, beats them by 30 and comes back to the locker room feeling good.
A top team plays Mississippi State when they suck, beats them by 30 and comes back to the locker room hurting because of the athletes they just played.
Who beats who, who has better teams, so many factors go into these questions. When it comes to who has better athletes and more of them, there is no question.

I think the sec is objectively deeper with good teams but that really doesnt say anything about how the teams at the top of both conferences compare to each other. The big ten can still have the better overall teams without having the most good teams.
The big ten has a ton of crap programs and I'm not sure why so many big ten fans try to defend it. We have a bunch of teams that put no effort into their football programs and just leach tv money. In the sec you guys have probably 10 fanbases that demand to compete for national championships, in the big ten we have maybe 5.
