I'd also like to see Gueye get more than 4 minutes.

Why ? He'd foul out in the 5th minute.

He only had one foul in last Saturday's four minutes. Maybe he could make it nearly a half before fouling out.

Seriously, getting fouls has a lot to do with being in the wrong position. And that take some playing time. That way he'll learn where to be on the court when shots are taken, when to box out, etc.

Well I was only half serious. I hope Gueye does well and he does need more playing time. However, he does foul a ridiculous amount. He is young tho.

Totally agree with Crede. A win against Auburn guarantees at worst an 11 seed assuming we lose to Ole Miss and in the first round of the SEC tourney. Ideally it would go down this way or we would win out and end up a 6 or 7 seed. I think we actually might be in already even without another win although that could very well put us into one of the dreaded play in games in Dayton.

Bama is in the tournament. They are a cod lock. They have a friggin 25 rpi, last year we had an 80. Lowest rpi # for a big six conference member to be left out of tournament was 37- FSU.

I have seen some reputable brackets with Bama as a 6 seed. These brackets project future wins and this was if we win our last 2 and finish the regular season 21-9. If we did that, our last 10 games would show us at 8-2, when four games prior we were 4-6. Quite a turnaround.

Imagine Bama as a 6 seed. The twin towers bringing the pain train. I bet this has to finally be fun for the freshmen.

I don't think this moniker is a very good one.

Correct. Still doesn't negate the fact that we have to cut a scholarship before next year.

Looks like we are going to bring in KT Harrell from Virginia so most likely 2 will have to go. He is originally from Montgomery and would have to sit out until the 1st Semester ends just like Johnson and he will be a Jr next year.

If I had to make a guess, I'd say McAfee, Denson, or Sullivan not coming back. Sullivan would be leaving to go overseas to play but I think he's the least likely of the 3 to leave.

Payne and Denson imo if everyone qualifies, Harrell transfers in and no current players have grade or off the court problems. I could see Frankie going overseas but no way Barbee asks McAfee to transfer. He had a stress fracture in his foot that kept him out for the majority of the OOC schedule and then he developed plantar fasciitis in the other foot as he was starting to get healthy so they decided to redshirt him.

Releford abused Ward last game. I don't think Ward can handle our press.

This. Ward couldn't stay in front of Releford on the defensive end either and he was constantly breaking down our defense and getting good looks for his teammates. Best pure pg in the SEC imo and possibly the most underrated player in the conference this year.

When he's aggressive, he's a very good player. If his shot was a little more consistent, he could be a great PG.

I wonder why Barbee would want KT? It seems like y'all have a lot of guards already.

The only tickets remaining for tomorrow night's game are student tickets.

"Cod lock" is a colloquialism. A term of art for a stone cold, lead pipe lock. Otherwise known as a virtual certainty.

Twin towers refers to the fact that for the first time in Bama basketball history, the team has two seven footers who are charitably described as offensively challenged. I am not even sure that Engstrom can dunk. Thru 28 games Engstrom has scored 24 points and has 39 rebounds. Gueye has 18 points and 19 rebounds.

I feel certain that other teams shudder at the thought of facing such an overwhelming offensive tandem. (sarcasm) The short hand for that is "bringing the pain train."

It would be nice for the season ticket holders to actually show up for once. The State game was a sellout too, but I still saw a ton of empty seats in the first ~15 rows along the sidelines.

The atmosphere was pretty incredible at the State game, especially when we went on that run. I sit pretty close to the court but you couldn't even here Teddy V blowing his whistle when Bost dribbled it off himself into the backcourt.

Upgrading the roster. None of our current guards can consistently hit an open jumper. KT shot over 40% from behind the arc his freshman year and got pretty good minutes. If he transfers in I would almost guarantee that he will replace one of our current wings from what is this years So class. Evidently we are also still recruiting another JC Center in Matt Korcheck. He signed with UTEP and Barbee out of high school but went to a JC instead when Barbee left to come to Auburn. He has some other really high level offers so it may be a bit of a long shot to sign him but Barbee(like another coach we all know) isn't afraid to run someone off if he thinks he can improve the team.
