Auburn should’ve hired Kirby Smart in 2012

Instead we got Gus who was only good for one season. With the way Smart recruits and the innate ability of Auburn to routinely beat Alabama (unlike Georgia), both Smart and Auburn would’ve seen more success than they currently have.

Don't think smart would recruit near as well at Auburn. Hugh freeze at Auburn would the most dangerous. He knows how to attract top recruits and Auburn knows how to cover it up

Lolz, What has Kirby done with higher ranked recruits at UGA?
Not a damn thing.
Not an endorsement for Gus but Kirby hasn’t done anything more spectacular than Gus outside of winning a few more games, but if winning championships is king then Kirby would not have been a real upgrade.

Unless Urban Meyer will come to Auburn, who could Auburn get that has won a national title? Is that your standard for replacing Gus?

He won the East in his third year.
He can actually have a worthwhile offense.
He doesn't need a bunch of 5* players to compete.
FSU is down. The U is trending upwards, but he is at a point where he can have the pick of the litter with recruits in Florida.

and you mutts said he didn't have a shot in hell to beat UGA this year. I was told that over and over before the season started. It was obvious to everybody who watched that UF is in a much better place than UGA.
ETA and he can actually develop a QB. Kirby runs the good ones off.
