Well, playing Alabama, Georgia and LSU every year won’t help anything. Auburn had played Clemson four times from 2010-2020, as well.

This is pretty much the reason why.

You do realize you are a fricking idiot, and you aren't even good at that. Do you think it is the NFL where your record dictates the following year's schedule? If so, you STILL fricked up because the best team gets the hardest schedule, etc.

I always take these strength of schedule rankings with a shovel full of salt. Alabama may have had the #3 SOS the last ten years...but they have only played 4 national champions the last 10 years, where Auburn has played 7. Alabama has only played 3 SEC champions the last 10 years, where Auburn has played 9.

Alabama may have played the toughest schedule possible, when you look at possible opponents.

Why has Auburn played a tougher schedule? Because Bama gets no SOS credit for the A-Day game.

Does this only include regular season games?

It makes sense for Auburn who had to play Bama and Georgia every year.

But how is Bama so high when they don't play a team equal to themselves and play Tennessee every year?

I would assume this includes all games. Bama has played in a lot of SEC championship, BCS and playoff games those years.

That doesn't help, but Auburn makes it harder on themselves at times. Screwing around losing to MSU back to back in '14/'15 then in '18 losing to MSU/UT with 1st yr HC's or SoCarl last year makes the schedule look harder than it was.

Oh, I know, but doesn't that kind of negate the purpose of ranking SOS?

I don't need rankings to tell me Clemson in the NC game is a tougher opponent than Northwestern in the Outback Bowl. And then if you're playing for the NC game, you obviously had two tough opponents in the semi-final and conference championship. That just further dilutes the regular season SOS.

Just kinda feels pointless to include post-season games and then compare Alabama and Arkansas.

Akron, Alabama State and Georgia State will help you little crybabies out some. After ya'll are 3 and 1 I feel sure some of you will be on here crowing about how Harsin has turned auburn around. Can't wait..... it's gonna be funny.

You're correct....and did you notice anything else that "isn't even close"?
Hint: look at the other column.

Yeah but 60% winning pct? I don't think a strong schedule means that much in that context.

Not quite, but not really that far apart.
Since the 2009 title loss, Texas has exactly 2 more wins vs top-25 teams (as ranked at game time) than Ole Miss. The only thing that put MSU behind them was Merlin's inability to beat ranked teams.

They'll be a game both you and OM mark down as winnable every season.

Might have something to do with State being the better team those years
