Bama's athletic success (read football factory) like Dr. Frankenstein will be destroyed by the monster it has created. Also it is not surprising that a Bama zealot would think putting a truly poisonous and toxic chemical where innocent men, women and small children could have come in contact with it is OK. Yes indeed it is obvious how Bama football has made you a better person.

Where did I say it was ok? I loathe Updyke, but again, he didn't begin the process of killing those trees. Auburn fans did. Toilet papering and pressure washing the trees started that process. It is undeniable. Auburn Univ admitted it BEFORE Updyke did his hateful act.

I've always had respect for Auburn.. They're an elite program. IMO Top 10 historically.. Sucks for them that they reside in the same state with, arguably, the top program of all-time..

Except Auburn officials were admitting that the trees were DYING at that moment, from years of abuse from their own fans.

We had to build our program with Alabama (undisputed best program in CFB history

This is true.

also a history of cheating

Admittedly, this is also true. But for perspective, it’s not quite as bad as Auburn’s.

Link or it just confirms what we already know to be true anyways...you are a lying POS. Legitimate Bama fans won't even acknowledge you.

Auburn is good program, but they're akin to the likes of Michigan State or Texas A&M in CFB (or even more like Louisville in basketball) in being a perpetual second fiddle in their own state to one of the legendary programs in the sport.

In the post Pat Dye era, the inconsistency of the program with great success and 4-5 loss seasons alternating often has been puzzling and frustrating to it's fans.

Michigan State and A&M aren't even on the same planet as Auburn historically though despite easier schedules

If the state only had one program, it would have over 20 national titles.

I think in some ways the competition has helped both teams. The best players aren’t afraid to compete and want to sign up to play in a rivalry with such huge national implications.

Auburn also has had some serious bad luck: four undefeated seasons and only two MNCs

Cheating to boost your roster, getting caught, so you’re on probation when the cheating pays off and you go undefeated, isn’t “bad luck”.

Maybe not A&M but MSU was one of the most dominant programs in the country in the 50's and 60's and have a minimum of 2 NC's

So they're easily within the same planet as Auburn.

14 Auburn fans downvoted this:

I think they are fairly rated, they are Big 6 but probably toward the bottom of the Big 6

but not one of them able to argue against it

Okay but what have they done since then? They've been an afterthought in the Big Ten for as long as I can remember aside from a couple Dantonio years and Saban's last one there

I know you’re from Auburn because you chose a season when LSU didn’t go undefeated.

BTW it’s happened to Auburn twice. The AP chose to ignore the probation in 1957, but not 1993.

I'm not an Auburn fan, but I will: on average, they've had the toughest schedule by far of the SEC's big six. They didn't get to beat on Vandy, UK, MSU or UM annually (only the last two since 1992)

You said "historically" but I believe they've won some divisions recently and Auburn certainly has had a better run this
century.

Auburn is always good to great when they are supposed to suck, and usually flounders under the pressure of high expectations. They are in the big six
