I've never understood opposing fans' hatred for the guy. I can't remember which Bama fan on here that hates him so much, but he'll be posting in this thread soon claiming that everyone in the coaching fraternity hates him, he's a dirty recruiter, and an all around bad person.....

He was banned from Thibadoux HS after he signed both Greg Robinson & Trovon Reed in back-to-back years.
At the same time, the AD at THS made a decision that banned anyone from "working out" or receiving "mentorship" from Trovon's "Father Figure".
Its strange that Nelson's funding for his Non-Profit (which he never disclosed the benefactor for) suddenly dried up after Trooper couldn't come back on campus.
Weird how that worked out. Oh well...What were we talking about again?

I like Trooper, good recruiter, good coach. I like his enthusiasm on the sidelines as well. Also, he almost ran me over with a golf cart after the UF game last year and was very apologetic.

Any coach that can get under the skin of rival schools enough to start threads and whine about has to be pretty good. He is whined about more than any assistant in the SEC.

Seriously, I will never convince an AU fan to believe me on Trooper. I've extended offers to clarify with proof to TTsTowel and Parkjas bc they're both good guys that wld be level headed about it. There are tons of great AU posters here. Some of my best times in college were visiting friends on the plains. I can hate Trooper for who he is and that be separate from my thoughts - good or bad - about AU.
One day (assuming he can find a job this time) he'll be gone and AU fans won't miss him a bit.

When he coached at UT he tried to come up into the stands and fight a fan after Fat Fulmer took an arse beating in Bryant Denny. That tells you what kind of character the guy has.
